Jeep feels like its dragging

Only way i know to describe it especially 3rd through 6th gears. Check engine light is on. I tried to access the computer and a code popped up but i accidentally cut it off and now it just says done. Air filter has about 8000 miles. Help please!!!

Your Jeep is obviously in limp mode and you need to find what is causing the check engine light to be on.

Thats why i was checking the codes. I think it reset because it displayed it before i cut it off, and now it just says done. Dragging may not be an appropriate description. It feels like an intermittant loss of power with a kind of stutter. It feels like something is opposing maybe which is why i mentioned the air filter because i thouht perhaps it could be an airflow issue. I initially thought it was bad gas and i went and filled it up with high test. The engine light went off after a couple of days and then it came back on and started doing the same thing.
