For that i also need to know what jeep fans would like to see in future. So i want you guys to give some suggestions, ideas about what you expect from a brand "jeep" in near future or far future.ideas can be futuristic, radical or practical which will suite current scenario.
I hope this forum will help me..

IFS (Independent front suspension). This will happen soon!

Turbo-ed 3.6 engine.

Eight speed automatic Transmission.

Lighter weight body, for better fuel economy, (Federal Mandate).

The body will also be more Aero-dynamic.

Back up camera as standard equipment.

What I'd like to see is a lighter weight frame and body. Think Aluminum and composite. Also a diesel engine would be nice. The huge benefit of this for those of us in the Northeast is minimal to no rust issues. Another thing I think all car manufacturers should OFFER is stainless steel hardware option for vehicles being built.

I have mixed thoughts on independent suspensions... In THEORY they can be awesome (check out the HMMWV for example), bu they really take a lot of the "modability" out of the equation. That said, Wranglers seem to make exceptional offroad vehicles stock, and even then the 2.5" lift seems to be the most popular. A long travel Independent suspension setup could be awesome.

I believe NHTSA is requiring backup cameras in all vehicles by 2018. That said I could go on all day with "gizmos" I'd like to see.

What I'd like: Lighter. Improved or same break over angle. Windshield easier to fold or remove. Carpet replaced by something like bed-liner or rubber. Jack designed to be used on soft ground. Back seat in two parts which can be used independently. Two recovery points for both ends rather than one (I have export model). Better positioning of steering stabilizer to avoid damage off road. Reposition the od button so sand does not immediately and permanently clog it. Design steering wheel so sand doesn't get behind it and mess up the clock spring. More robust soft top zippers especially on rear window. Let all soft windows have roll up ability without excessive damage to the soft window. Let the "sail panels" (right?) not fly off so easily while driving without soft windows. Keep solid axles. Add option for diff. locks at all trim levels. Reliable engine with good torque. Probably more things...

Oh man - this one is so easy: AN AUTOMATIC TOP... !!!

Hands-down, this would be the biggest upgrade for the iconic Wrangler. If you can design a soft top (or even better - a hard top!) that was powered, went up and down with ease, didn't take up much more room than it does now when lowered - Jeep would instantly grow their user base and attract more customers. And make their existing customers a lot happier!

I just came from having a VW convertible new beetle (my wife's car) that had an automatic soft top that raised and lowered in an astonishing 13 seconds flat. It was a one-button design and incorporated a 3-layer soft top that was insulated. Was the best soft top I've ever used, by all measures.

The Wrangler doesn't need something so elaborate, but it certainly needs an upgrade from the 10+ minutes it takes to get the soft top up and side windows zippered in, etc., from the down position. If you could design an accordion-like hard top that would fold up into the back --- even if only available in the 4 door / unlimited versions --- you've got a winner!!!

And you could sign me up. I'd even pay the price for a brand new one if this was an option!!!

And oh yeah - heated back seats would be nice for the kiddies. And wife in the passenger seat. But that's anti-Jeep chic, so I get it... Might never happen :) :) :)

Automatic top?!? The power hardtop on my bimmer developed a hydraulic leak. $1,200 part + 10 hours of labor! Good thing the dealership convinced BMW to pay for it!

Those things add weight and complexity, something a Wrangler doesn't need.

More Expedition Type Hard Top with a Barn Door and windows that open or can be removed.
Factory Lift Option
Beefier Axel Housings, ball joints a C's
Factory 3/16" full skids
A Nav System that will let you load offroad maps into it.
Larger Tire upgrade when ordering
DIESEL ENGINE
LED HEADLIGHTS
to name a few...

India was known for building cheap no frills vehicles recently the TaTa and they bought the Royal Enfield motorcycle name, which are also no frills but functional bikes with a very retro look.

If they were to build a no frills M38A1, I would definitely buy one, I drove the '67 pattern in the Canadian Army and they were a blast to drive, I have been looking for one but they are either restored or complete basket cases.

A new one with that look and utilitarian feel would be perfect.
