Jeep Going into Storage

Leaving for a couple months. Anything special I need to do to my JKU before I go? Never left her before.

Hope you get time off for good behavior.

Not exactly a jeep, but these are all good things to think about when leaving your vehicle for an extended period of time:

Three hots and a cot...it's not so bad. Really. Catch up on your reading (if you like Shane). Learn who Thad's cheating on in General Hospital, and why Missy's need for gastric bypass surgery is all in her head.

Oh, and how to make a shank outta plastic coffee cup lids.

Valuable life experiences.

Now, about those keys...

If your leaving fuel in the tank, I'd put a shot of Marine Grade STA-BIL in the gas, run it for a few minutes to make sure it;s thru the system.

A packet of DECON for mice might be a good idea.

Might think about jacking it up and putting blocks under the axles so the tires don't get flat spots.

Good luck on all that training..... "BH"

www.TechGuys.ca | How to: Store a car for winter

How to Remove Your Car From Long-Term Storage | eHow.com

I would use the above if mine were going to be idle for longer than three months. If less than that, I would get one of my buddies to come over every two weeks and take it for a twenty mile drive. Reward buddy with appropriate supply of adult beverage upon return. Much simpler solution.

Taking it out of storage the right way is just as important as storing it.

Good luck in training!

Lightbulb

We can just run it in reverse up on jack stands to take that mileage off, right?

I store mine during the salty winter months (3-4) here in Wisconsin and all I do is add some sta-bil and run it for a bit so the stuff gets through the fuel system. I do take the key out also. I don't really know why I do that but I do. I just set the key on the console. Storage is in my mothers heated garage. have a good training session.
