Jeep Headaches

Jeep Headache I love my 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon BUT I hate when you go to order something like UConnect and your told by the dealer you might never see it because the Jeep Parts Dept has no idea when it's going to be available because it's on Back Order but then you call the company that is manufacturing the part and they tell you they have hundreds waiting to be sent out but no orders are coming in and you ask if you can get it directly from them and they tell you that you have to go through your local dealer. Well this is why the company was going under, its not because the vehicles are not good quality it's because if you go in for repair or just need a part and have to wait between 2 week or sometimes 9+ months for something you just sell it and go to either Ford or another company for a vehicle you can get your parts for then who can get you a part like a cylinder head which I know someone ordered at Jeep of Greenwich, CT Parts Dept 8 months ago when their car needed a cylinder head and they are still waiting, is this good for their customers and the quality of service. You get good treatment when you want a vehicle and they can build it from scratch in 2 months but to get a part takes up to 9 months this is BS how can this company we so much love survive if it keeps happening. I know another person who had his inline 6 on his 2005 jeep die and instead of waiting for a part for ever he paid for a 5.7 conversion at a cost of $20k and in 1 week it was done he said he put the order in for the inline 6 because it was under warranty and he's been waiting 7 months for the parts he said he was glad he did the conversion and didn't wait but he just wants to see when it will arrive and when it does he's going to CH-8 News to tell them about his ordeal well after all this I'm not shocked I haven't got my UConnect yet I might get it in a year or more if Jeep Parts has to place the order I just wish the company CEO would check in on the parts ordering like he does with the new 2011 Grand Cherokee & Wrangler ect going to shows to Show it off what about us waiting for parts that are taking 4 ever to get to us when the company's that are making it are just waiting for orders to be placed I now wish I bought the Ford Raptor instead if this 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon it's not up to what it was Shown off as at the Auto Show and last but not Least what Smart Person builds a GARMIN Navigation Unit with No Traffic Option in it even my cheap Garmin Unit which costs $425 has Lifetime Traffic on it but my $2000 In Dash Unit through Jeep Doesn't and it's NOT Available Now or in the Future I have to replace it and spend more money well this is another Reason I hate my Jeep because everyone wanted Garmin but they didn't think to ask for Traffic well if anyone agress and would like to chat I'm on JK Forum, Myspace, Facebook and a few other sites but to Jeep next time you build a new vehicle put Traffic on the NAV as an Option it would be a good thing and also design it so you can purchase it through parts if you get it without because the dealer doesn't order it because I bought my Rubicon because it was the last one in my area and it didn't come with UConnect and I want it but not going into it again is peeves me that it's going to take atleast a year to get because your ordering system through your dealerships SUCKS!!!! Well I'm sorry I'm so forward but I saved all my money to get my first Jeep that I bought on my own and now I'm not sure it was my best choice it it's going to take so long to get parts what happens if I get into an accident and I need parts is it going to be in a shop for a year and me having to pay out of pocket for a rental because normal rentals only last a month please look into this for all your loyal or new customers like me. Last I keep getting calls for customer service asking me if I like my 2011 JK well the last call I said I now regret it due to the wait for parts! Please call me I'm not mad just upset.

Sincerely, John T.

You should find a period button and an enter key for your keyboard. What you wrote may be true, but the headache that I now have is from trying to read 4 paragraphs of ranting stuffed into 2 sentences.

Sorry about your experiences with Jeep. On the up-side, the Rubicons hold their value pretty well, so you could probably recover most of your initial cost, and buy that Raptor you want...

Good luck!

Wow, Greenwich CT must be severely lacking in teaching of basic writing skills. If I were a mod here I would delete that post for the common good.

Have you tried calling another dealer? There has got to one out there that is hungry enough for business to take your $$$. Also did you take your issue up with the management of the dealership?

I think it has to do with what someone posted in another thread. It is your Jeeps attempt at rejecting all the frills. Anything worth while on my Jeep that needs replaced, I can get it at the off road shop. But really, the main reason I didn't get the expensive radio was so I could get a good one after market

Talking

I don't care about your grammar, we get the point, or lack there of. If uconect was such a big deal to you, why didn't you just order you jeep like I did. I got it on mine just because I might need it but have never used it. I love the nav though and this thing is a juke box on wheels. I have every option known except the rag top, which is worthless to me. I have the climate control instead! Both chrome packages and everything else. Very happy overall, seems to have ok power even with cruse on 78 mph. No water leaks or air noise. Heated leather seats will roast your but. Very nice build quality, and paint quality is as good or better then ford. I just hope I don't need parts and have to wait 6 to 12 months. That's totality uncalled for!

WOW! What a rant! I think when you rant like that punctuation is moot. But I would try another dealer.

Go through Crutchfield, they have pretty good kits for everything.

As for the parts and dealer networks, I think you're right. Every Dodge/Jeep dealership I've dealt with so far has been totally off the ball when it comes to ordering simple parts and performing service (I have my own post on this). The products are great, but until Fiat straightens everything out, which will be a while, things are going to continue to be a mess.

I know I have bad grammar I have a learning disability and it's in the grammar Dept as you can see I don't hide it like some people, next I'm just upset with Chrysler and their back orders if you can build a vehicle you should also put a good Suply of parts out or have in storage for that vehicle before it goes into production and last I don't want to go aftermarket I bought a lifetime unlimited mileage bumper to bumper warranty with a Zero Deductible so that these parts would be under the warranty I know their is a large market for aftermarket parts but I like stock on the interior.

Divide each thought with a new paragraph (<ENTER> X2 "Next I'm...") and you'll be ok.

I'm not so sure the extended warranty was the route to go. There are too many escapes for Chrysler to deny coverage (lifts, mods, etc).

Is this the part for the UConnect?
MOPAR 82211878 - MOPAR® UConnect Phone Kit with iPod Integration for 07-10 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec

Get the part number and confirm with your dealer that it will fit.

GARMIN Navigation Unit with No Traffic Option in it even my cheap Garmin Unit which costs $425 has Lifetime Traffic on it but my $2000 In Dash Unit through Jeep Doesn't and it's NOT Available Now or in the Future

I bought my Rubicon because it was the last one in my area and it didn't come with UConnect and I want it

ordering system through your dealerships SUCKS!!!!

You need to take on a bit of the responsibility yourself. I ordered Uconnect for my wife's Liberty when she first got it. It was right around the time of the bankruptcy and we never heard back and kind of just forgot about it.

Last October MD passed a hands free law so we looked into it again. This time they had one in stock. (I still wonder if it was the one we ordered). After getting hers installed, I decided I wanted it in my Wrangler. When I went back there were none in stock.

I had them check other dealers and found one with 7 in stock. I went there to buy it and had my dealer install it.

The issue isn't Chrysler, it's your dealer choosing not to carry that particular part in stock. If you want something to rant about, wait until you see how much they charge to install it.

Sounds just like a case of bad luck to me, I've never had problems with the dealership.

My advice would be to go after market if the uconnect is such a big deal, but don't give up on your jeep just yet. And especially don't get a raptor... That's nothing but a status symbol, at least where I'm from.

Daggo is right. I know we have at least 20 kits available at all times since Chicago went hands free and now the local villages are as well.

Go to another dealer and get it. Just like i can find and dealer trade for vehicles, the parts department can locate and have driver go get the kit or have it mailed to them.

Is this rant seriously over uconnect? I ordered it from a jeep dealer on E-Bay, had it in 3 days, installed it myself in 30 minutes and then drove to the dealer where I paid 40 buck to have it activated. I'll bet it took him longer to write that rant

Life is not that hard. Buy it elsewhere, move on AND ENJOY YOUR JEEP!
