Jeep is Home! AEV 3.5" Lift w/35" Toyo OC MTs

Well....I picked up my Jeep this evening from the 4 wheel place and I was VERY happy with the outcome. I had to ride home in the rain against a very strong wind. The Jeep handled great and didn't seem to hydroplane or move around at all. I did feel like I had to be careful though with the taller feel to it on wet roads. I was very impressed with the way it looks and the ride is very smooth also. Anyway....here is a before pic (top down) and after pics.

They did a great job of installing the Front End Hitch Receiver also....I'm ready to hook up the fishing rod/ice chest holder and head out to the beach!

Very, very nice work! Out of curiosity, what does AEV say about how these mods effect your jeeps general warranty?

Not for nothing, it doesn't matter what AEV says, it matters what Chrysler says.

Your Jeep looks great! Add my to the jealous list.

I never asked AEV about the warranty. I would be more interested in what Jeep says....I bet it's not going to be warranted. But...Jeeps last forever.

I wonder if I would be covered if any TSB work ever needs to be done.

The gears are now 4.88 Yukons.

The total setback hurts to think about. It was close to 7K for everything....

AEV 3.5 inch Premium lift
Yukon 4.88 regear
35x12.5x17 Toyo Open Country MT Tires (five of them)
AEV Argent Pintler Wheels (five of them)
Curt Front End Hitch
Labor

I can't believe that I have put this much into it ... and I'm not finished.
I need steps, a front bumper and a strong tire carrier/rear bumper.

Magnuson-Moss Act

Basically, just because you make a modification your warranty cannot legally be declined. They must prove the part you installed caused what ever issue you are trying to make them cover.

I've talked to the Service rep at my local dealership and asked a while back when the lifetime warranty was going on and he said as long as a "Chrysler" part failed it was covered. Lifts shouldn't affect other parts. Take it with a grain of salt though.

Actually they do. The CV boots on his driveshaft will be affected, especially if he has an automatic transmission. It will be a direct result of the lift and therefore will not be covered.

I have a manual transmission...doesn't seem to be a problem.

The newer AEV 3.5 inch premium lift now includes Front Control Arm Drop Down Brackets that seem to work for this kit and a manual tranny....(not sure about the automatic).

The installer said that I should be fine but that it would be good if I got Tom Woods driveshaft after a few years.

You will need longer drive shafts. Especially with the 2 door. Oh and it looks great.

Length isn't the issue. It's the big fat stock shafts with the CV boot. The drop down brackets will probably hold off any issue save for extreme flexing. That's why they are suggesting the TW's down the road.
