jeep Mopar gas cap door installed?

Installed the Mopar gas door a few weeks ago and everything seemed good but the plastic part that clipped into the body seems to move just a little even though the piece is clipped in properly. Is this a normal thing? Anyone else have a similar situation?
Thanks

Yes it is. It's an annoying characteristic of it. Especially since its OE. It's still the best door.

When I installed my cap last year, it was loose too. Sometimes the 4 tabs don't engage fully, tho it may feel like it. You can unscrew the 6 Allen bolts, only 4 are threaded and then you can reach thru and check the 4 tabs to make sure they popped back fully. Then it should be tight. If this doesn't work, you got a loose one!

This is the route I took and am very happy with it. It is OEM and fits tight. No wiggling at all!

Because it's possibly a knock-off. Hot Rod magazine just did a great story this month on this subject.

The one I bought came from a jeep dealer so it is Mopar product. I just took it off and put it back on and it still has a little play. I'm just going to leave it alone before I beak something

Couldn't you take it back to the dealership and ask them if it's supposed to be that way?

Yes I did that and they claim it is normal, however I just didn't buy that.

Sorry, I must have missed that part!

Stinks that your brand new cover doesn't work right!

I hope someone can help you out...

Bought a Jeep MOPAR door for my '12 (which I removed prior to trading in for my '13).

The same door mounted the same way is tighter (i.e., wiggles much less) on the '13 than on the '12. I attribute this to the fuel line being slightly "right" of center, which I believe is helping to pinch it against the body.

If the fit had been as/more loose, I would've taken some electrical/gorilla tape and used it between the body and the inside mount. Maybe that would work for you.
