You can find several examples in these threads over at JK-F:
show pics of your hood stickers (no rubicon shots)
Jeeps with nicknames on hood

And here is a massive thread dedicated to all stickers.
Show us the stickers.

Mine is not really a nickname, but this is what is on my hood sides.

Go for it. What's the worst that can happen? You don't like it and take it off? Meanwhile it sound like it has the potential to look awesome.

I've been toying with the idea of having a Star Wars-related call sign (I'm a huge SW nerd) in the same style as 4fit's pic above (thanks for the links also, 4fit). Just need to figure out (1) if I really want to do it, and (B) a good reference for a call sign.

I really like the way they look on the ones I've seen so far, but when it comes to doing it on my own Jeep, I start to wonder if it's "too much" haha. Right now, the only decals I have are the Rebel Alliance insignia on each side, where the Wrangler Sport decals used to be.

----pixeldecals.com-----

They have a video on line and instructions on installation-it's not easy and if you've never done decals, have a friend help--and watch that video---if you get the decal !

Good luck

Not a name but since 1Topp showed his side panel decal, here is mine.

I call it the "Deep East Texas" edition or the "Behind the Pine Curtain" edition.

Pixel Decals does good work. What format did you send them for them to make it?

How hard is it to REMOVE these hood decals? I'm thinking about adding decals to my hood but if I don't like the look and I want to get rid of them, is it a big deal to pull them off? I know the factory ones come off pretty easily but wondering about the pixel decals. I know they are pretty thin, do they shread when you are trying to remove them?

Glad you asked this.. I had to remove the decals (which I just put on) off or other car before we took it to trade.. The longer the decals sit.. the harder it is to remove.. then you have to deal with the decals not put on properly.. meaning the decals have pealed away in areas and have picked up road grim etc.. over time these will eat away at your paint unless this doesn't really matter.

Took me about 2 hours to put the decals on and about the same taking them off.. the trouble I was facing was my hands are not that great doing small projects anymore.. and the decal itself was breaking apart.. not pulling away in one piece and this my happen to you as well.

Depending on the decal, whether its made from nylon or a clear sticky.. your going to have to get your fingers (nails) dirty.. although a hair dryer is another great thing to have.. the warmth of the sun can benefit your effort on removal.

Another thing that helped.. was a plastic razor blade.. actually found this one in the trash.. but I think they can be acquired via auto parts stores and if your not to worried about scratches.. then you fine.. other wise you may need a buffer and a product which can remove small scratches.

Follow up: A plus, is to have a decal fresh.. meaning it was just made and hasn't been sitting out or on the Vehicle.. because of its freshness.. the decal is more pliable when applying or removing.. yet let it sit over time.. and it will crack off in sections. I was dealing with an older decal which a friend gave me.. and it simply cracked up while trying to remove.

Wow, great answer. Thanks for taking the time to do that. I know when I removed the factory "Sport" logo it was very easy, but that is the clear plastic thicker type that comes off in one pull. These thin ones like the pixel decals can be tricky. Very good tips. I guess if I do and and don't like it I will remove right away and I should be ok.

Where is Annapolis Junction by the way? I've over near Chesapeake College in Wye Mills if you know where that is?

AnapJunc is near Fort Meade/NSA off 32/29/95/1

And we do head to the ES often.. not all the way to the coast.. but a friend there has a small zoo/farm which we help out from time to time. So if we are out that way we'll send you a line.

and thanks.. for the thumbs up..
