Jeep to Jeep courtesy

I was sitting at a stop sign on a serivce road that runs parallel to the main road at an intersection. When the light changes and you want to cross the intersection, you are pretty much sol trying to get through before the light changes again. No one will ever let you in, until today. I was sitting at the stop sign waiting for the light to change. When it did, I started to wave to a red TJ about to cross, when it stopped and the driver waved me through! I know she only let me go because I was driving a Jeep.

Trying to pull out of the subdivision in the morning is a really challenge. Nobody will give you a chance so you just end up pulling out and hope the guy behind you does not hit you in the a##.
However, the other morning was different. Same amount of traffic but saw another jeep coming, they slowed up and let me in. Could not tell if it was a male or female......Jeep people are great!

I am sooo glad I can associate myself with Jeep people again after driving an FJ Loser for almost 4 years. NOt only is there NO cameraderie at all in the FJ set.....but it seems like nothing but soccer moms driving 4X2's around here. I dont think I ever got one single wave from an FJer...and mine was lifted and modded!!

It's live and well out here. I got a wave from a Cherokee with his doors off across the highway median.

I am always nice to fellow Jeepers on the road. It just seems like I am suppose to... It's just something that goes without saying. It's a Jeep thing!

Also, here in NV I have noticed that Wrangler drivers obey the laws more often than not. And they are not jerk drivers either.... If every person on the road was like us Jeepers... The world would almost be road rage and idiot free. :P

^^

Also, the Jeep wave is alive and well in Western NY, except for JK owners. They NEVER wave. I won't wave to them anymore unless they initiate.

sadly around DFW 60% of the jeep drivers are either soccer moms, or hardcore mall crawlers, There's this Black jeep on 42's. I parked next to him at "freebirds" (restaurant) and we talked, he was AGAINST OFF ROADING! After that I lost complete interest in the jeep and the conversation. He has a really sick jeep too, not just visuals, he was rocking a custom built LA lift, and custom width axles and everything. what a waste

I do get some waves, but you can tell there "real" jeepers. and of coarse the lady's love the jeep with no top or doors ))

In my little Nevada town, mostly older jeeps, CJ's/Wranglers-etc and one in particular, a sharp little red lifted CJ, never would wave BACK at me --

Last month I had the garage door open and I was putting on the 2.5" lift and-

While I was under the JK (just about have to be, when -Oh you know), this guy, in the red one, stops out front, walks up and introduces himself-(Gary) and apologizes for not waving back to me--

"Jesus", I thought it was a HUMMER-he says, need any help ??

Pretty KEWL--probably ONE of the reasons, little jeeps don't return waves !!

How did this become a "wave" thread. This was about the courtesy on Jeep driver showed to another. For the reocrd I drive a JK and the other Jeep was a TJ.

Your attitude goes against the entire Jeep community. I go by the "It's better to give than receive" philosophy. It's nice to get a wave back, but that's not why I wave. Who cares why they didn't wave? Sometimes I miss a Jeep going the other way, it happens when you are concentrating on driving. I sure when it happens some TJ driver is telling eveyone that the F'ing JK's don't wave back.

I have a JK and wave all the time. At this time of year it seems that there are less waves ( I don't know why) but as soon as it warms up there back to waving. I admit that there are times that it gets frustrating when your out and about and not one return wave, but I still wave. It's the way I was raised I guess.

I have yet to receive a wave from a JK since they've been released.

My waving hand gets tired after a couple years....

I took mine on a six hour road trip yesterday, I had one Red TJ stop to let me go out from a light, I stopped to let a white TJ out and I had a really nice full hand wave from a guy in a new XJ or JK? as he went by. (it was the four door new jeep, go ahead and slam me for not remembering the model DOH!)

Around Pittsburgh its the JK's that wave and the rest of the wranglers that don't.......
The older ones just drive jeeps cause we get snow......
It's just a means of transportation for them nothing more.......
