Looking into getting the J Tops USA shade top for my JKU...where is the best place to purchase?
From what I've read in here, both J Tops USA and Extreme Terrain have solid customer service. I think I can get free shipping from Extreme Terrain but wasn't sure if it would be better to buy direct from the manufacturer in the event of any problems. Suggestions welcome!

I ended up purchasing direct from the manufacturer. The issue I had was that Extreme Terrain didn't carry the products or colors I wanted, so I had to go direct. I ended up emailing them and they gave me a discount due to ordering a mesh top, soft top boot, and window roll from them at the same time.

As a note I did have to wait several weeks for delivery as it seems the items were made to order.

I appreciate the info. What color did you end up going with? I'm considering red with my white JKU Backcountry. I'll end up with the soft top boot as well and wondering how well the color holds up in the sun.
Thanks!

I've ordered a Jeep Tube and a Jeep Top from them. In the case of the Tube, I had a few questions - they answered them quickly, professionally and even gave me a discount. The tube did take a while to arrive (2-3 weeks).

I ordered a Jeep Top this week and should have it today; it shipped the same day. 2-Door, gray. Seems like they may have inventory of popular choices; or perhaps I bought one that was from a cancelled order.

GREAT quality on the Jeep Tube.. Really top notch. So far I've been able to stay with all Made In USA aftermarket parts and am really happy about some of the companies I've spoken with.

I considered the tube last year but I ended up with a clover patch role and use a mailing tube to hold the tailgate bar and roll the windows around - similar concept but a fraction of the price and meets my needs. I'll probably be holding off on the boot for a bit as I'm up in the air on need vs want (since I'm setting $ aside for lift and all the add-ons to fix geometry and such)...time will tell - I'm not concerned with shipping time, more concerned with CS vs shipping cost. There tends to be trade-offs sometimes - sales price is the same with either place, just wondering if paying for shipping will yield better CS if/when it's needed.

Their CS was great... it felt like back when you'd call a company and they actually cared about making sure you were taken care of. They were also extremely quick with email replies. It felt like a company that's properly staffed with smart people.

I'm not normally this upbeat about vendors I work with...

Since I went with basic black I bought mine from ET. They were in stock and I got a forum discount I think.. one of the best buys I have made though, the top is awesome.

Thanks for the info. I looked into it again and it looks like I'd end up around a 15% increase due to shipping and the $8 charge when ordering through the manufacturer. Leaning toward extreme terrain based on overall price alone - 15% is tough to swallow (I know it's not much as far as dollar amt but I think that's a pretty large gap in tradeoff - mechanical parts might make it an easier pill to swallow but this is only a shade top)
