JK clutch options? performance

Hi, since I have had my JK I have always had some issue with the clutch. When I accelerate quickly since the day I purchased it i can smell that slight clutch b burning smell.

It always seems like the car has more power but i simply to not press on the gas more as I always smell the clutch a bit.

Note: i do not slip the clutch, this is once its fully engaged.

So i was wondering, has anyone ever tried a different clutch? some sort of sport clutch maybe?

To me it just seems like the car can go much faster then it does. It has the power, you can feel it. But the clutch just doesn't seem like its really made to handle it all.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Centerforce Series II is a great clutch, and would be my first choice. Google Centerforce clutches and check out their series II clutches for info about it.

Edit

"It seems like the car has more power available but i simply do not press on the gas more as I always smell the clutch a bit if i do."

Thanks, I will check it out. Has anyone tried these or have reported results? I have never used a non-stock item as a clutch on a car before.

but.. has anyone else experienced this? The new 2 door really has a very powerful motor for its size. If you have a soft top / fairly empty car the acceleration is very good. Its just that it seems it could be even better.

I've used Centerforce clutches, LUK, and a few others over the past 40 years. IMO the Centerforce is the winner. The series II clutch can easily handle the power of a hemi, so a stock 3.6 is a walk in the park.

I doubt a properly functioning clutch can be overcome by a stock engine.
If your stock clutch is slipping, I'd find out why. That said, if it has been slipping, the pressure plate, flywheel, and discs probably have bluing/a glaze and will slip.
I'm not anti-mod, but if you put in an aftermarket clutch and the issue remains... Well, the issue remains.

That is possible, the smell is similar.

I just remember the when i just purchased the car "new" i smelled it quite often. However there isnt really any noticeable slippage, its more that i just feel like the clutch really doesnt like the car being floored.

if you are correct, then why would you smell coolant?

it shouldnt be leaking out of anything...

Maybe nothing to do with your issue, but did you check/change the manual transmission fluid? I checked mine (thanks to people on this site) and it was a 1/2 qt low, so I drained and replace with Synchromesh and am now just over 30K and no issues whatsoever.
