JK glass strength

Hey guys,
Has anyone been unfortunate enough to have the strength of their JK's glass tested? I ask 'coz i was pleasently surprised at the strength of my Commander, when it got broken into. The damn idiots (i dream about catching them) took a baseball bat to break my window to get to the radar detector i left on my dash overnight and being (as i mentioned) idiots, they tried the windshield. Obviously no luck. No surprise there. But what did surprise me was that the front driver's side window was the same. No luck there, left a tiny hole where i assume he was hammering the window with the end of the bat. But not big enough so he took on the rear window and that broke like nothing. I can't even describe the feeling i had when the cops woke me up at 4AM to tell me what happened. But that's a different story. So my question is, is the JK glass as strong as the one on Commander?

All glass except the windshield should be tempered safety glass. It is design to shatter. And should be regulated by the US Department of Transportation. Are your windows tinted? The film will hold Tempered glass together and not allow it to shatter? The window me might have some to do with it as well. Different designed frames may support the glass better

sorry to hear about your break in...probably shouldn't leave accessories out in the open like that though, gives a thief a "reason" to break in. number one rule for myself is never leave anything in plain site now matter how long and always lock glove/arm rest storage.

but, what is the point of you asking this question? are you getting a wrangler or did you find some wrangler glass windows that would fit your commander? I am a bit confused why you care how strong the glass is, could probably be broken by one swing of a bat I'd assume.

Points :
pure interest, also i'd love to make all my glass break proof like the front 3 on the Commander. No i didn't have it tinted at all, all was factory. So the only explanation really is that the front three windows are made from tougher glass.
BTW it did shatter but stayed compact and didn't allow those idiots to come in, so one hit with a baseball bat luckily doesn't do it. I think that's a very good safety feature, but can be turned against you of u r (God forbid) stuck in the car.

Very interesting, but as i said, he definitely wouldn't be able to break my old Commander's front 3 windows, which withstood a baseball bat. I can see the rear passenger's windows breaking like that though. Still, that's pretty interesting

Pretty sure he used a glass punch, you'll see it in his hand near the end of the video. Something like this tiny thing ResQMe.

If you're expecting any stock vehicle glass to stop a break in.. guess again!
The reason your glass did so well the first time, is because it had a higher IQ than it's attackers.
