JK Half Doors! Where Did You Buy Yours?

WOW!!!

I did a Search for Half Doors on the Forum, and came up with a few older posts, that didn't really cover what I was looking for.

I stopped by the Dealer today, to get a "PRICE" on a set of Front Half Doors for my JK 2-Dr. The Parts Gent said that you have to "Buy the Pieces", and basically build them yourself. For example, "1" (ONE), Outer Door Shell is $900! HA! And they call "ME" a Pirate!
I didn't even bother asking about the rest of the parts.

During my web search, I found a complete set on EBAY, for $3K+. I don't think so! I've been looking at the HighRock Element Door Kits, and between Quadratech and 4 Wheel Drive, I could build a set with Upper Windows for around $716. This doesn't include Shipping or the Painting of the Element Enclosure Kit. Under $750 sounds much more reasonable for a set of Half Doors, as opposed to over $3K for a set of Factory Half Doors.

Do any JK 2-Dr Owners have the Hard Half Doors, and if so, where did you buy yours? Any good sources would be greatly appreciated!

BTW, I did look on Craigslist as well, and "MIGHT" have a possible lead in that department. I'll see if I get an email response from them tomorrow. Until then, the Search Continues!

Thanks in advance, for any inputs!

Cheers!

BB

That price is for the metal half doors? They are pricey.

Several companies sell these type of half doors (including Bestop!). Same look as an Element door with the enclosure kit, but less money (they don't convert to tube doors).

Not sure how much, to be honest. Maybe 300 bucks? Then you could add the top door of your choice.

Thanks Geoff! Looks like these are the Fabric Doors, from what the description says. I'm looking to have the Hard Doors painted to match my Yellow Jeep.

BTW, I did Bookmark the BESTOP website for future browsings!

Thanks again!

Cheers!

$3k doesn't sound too bad for what they are being sold for currently. I have seen a set for $5K. :(

I am waiting for Mopar to come out with the half door kit, well, waiting for a price. Then we'll see!

River Raider makes a set of Aluminum doors that are sexy as all get out. Have to call for a price, but it may be an alternative to Mopar. They have some pics online and come ready for primer/paint.

And Geoff will have some of the ladies of Bestop make a video on how to install them for you.

DIY time!

sounds like a good excuse to buy a welder and a small tubing bender ;)

PLUS... when you weld up the hinges, you can offset the bottom one so that you don't have to line up both pins at the same time... line up the top, drop it 1/4" in, then line up the bottom... SO much easier :) I've been trying to talk myself into chopping a 1/4" off my lower JK door pins and lose the ability to put the nuts back on... haven't convinced myself yet, but it's only a matter of time!

Pretty loud if they are sitting in the house with the half doors, haha.
