I don't want to start something here but - how do JK owners (and others) feel about the heritage of a Jeep that rolled off the assembly line with plastic fenders? Is it just another SUV? If so, is the Jeep community losing the loyalty and family spirit? cwhack:
I am not sure of the question here. Do the plastic fenders make me question my Jeep's heritage? Is it just another SUV? In short, to both questions, no. Take a stock Jeep out on the trail, or out wheeling, to see what it's capable of. Then come back and answer the questions you just asked.
Yeah, my Jeep is lifted and has aftermarket wheels and 35's, but I wheeled it stock before making any changes.
The Wrangler is still the closest thing to it's heritage than any other American vehicle made. Yeah it has softened up some, but still. That is the nature of the beast.
Not to start an argument here but the fenders are actually metal, the flares are the plastic part. That said please correct me if I'm wrong but I thing the the flares on past jeep models have been plastic as well.
But I have no problem with the plastic flares or that matter the plastic bumper. they were getting replaced anyway.
