JK rear door windows wont work..help troubleshooting!

Hi All;

I own an 08 unlimited 4dr. and the rear power windows wont work from the front or rear controls. They worked for about 6 months after I purhased the jeep. Here is what I have done;

1) Checked the main safety lock
2)I checked the connection at the location in both harnessess where the adapter is for when you remove the doors. Those were fine.
3) checked every fuse under the hood. The manual doesn't specify which fuse controls that so I checked all of the small fuses (15 or 20A) and all were fine.

Does anybody know which fuse controls the rear power windows? I would like to verify that it is NOT the fuse and maybe the child safety control switch failed while it was in the locked position...????

Any other troubleshooting tips or has anyone else seen this issue?

Thanks in advance!

Steve

I would pull of the front of the dash off and make sure that the connectors are plugged all the way in. Just push up on the top panel of the dash and pull the bottom panel off. Unscrew all of the screws on the top and bottom and then pull the front dash panel towards you. Check the connections, unplug it and plug it back in. You can test it right then and there. Then just put it back together.
If it was a fuse, I would think that it would be the same fuse for the front windows as it would be for the back.

Thanks for your responses. I dont think the window motors are both dead. They both failed at the same time and why would each one die within 1 year of build? I would HOPE Not anyway.....

I will open up the dash and look in there.

Thanks again.

That happened to me as well.... We basically hit the door or the inside near the door handle and it has worked since haha... My father is a mechanic and he said there may be a loose connection to the motor in the door. I never had him check considering it has been working since.

Same problem on my 2010

I am having the same problem. The safety switch is not on and I check the wiring harness. Neither rear window will roll down. Any more help or advice would be appreciated.
