Jk rubicon 1/10 replica finished!

Hey,
So I wanted to have some offroad "crawler" fun with a miniature version of my 2012 rubicon.
So I did some research and bought and Axial SCX10 rc scale crawler. I then bought a ton of parts and accessories and ordered gecko green paint straight from mopar. Now it's done. Same rims too! Check it out!

The little rc crawler is totally badass. I had to change out most of the electronics to make it 100% waterproof. I also wired in LEDs.
The rc is super fun to drive around crawling over challenging mini obstacles!

Pretty sweet. Can you get Rubicon stickers for it?

Ya I have the rubicon stickers - just painting them black still. A company called pro line makes the body. It has a full interior too.

I had to get a 3D printing company to print me the door handles and mirrors.

I'll share any info people want!

The LED light kit is inside a balloon

The servo is a traxxas waterproof servo and the ESC is a traxxas XL-5. Both have been underwater many times working just fine. Mind you I spend a day taking each bearing apart and greasing everything with marine grease.

It's amazing. The axial scx10 is a great crawler. This model did the rubicon trail (google it it's pretty neat)

Hahaha damn well should be. For durability! It's baby rhino liner. Also known as black spray paint.

I can't wait to see it! Don't forget about the miniature Ontario License plate. I'm sure with a little dab of crazy glue it'll fit nicely on the front bumper.

I built one of those Axial jeeps, too. I painted the body with Mopar paint, like you did, to match my dozer-colored JK. I added lights, but that's as far as I went. You really did a great job making your mini-jeep match the real thing.

Wow! You did a good job making a nice scale rc jk though! Looks great! I lost some approach angle by insisting on sticking with stock bumpers and some articulation was lost by insisting on sticking with stock fenders. But such is the cost of a replica!

I told my wife that if I modify the rc I have to modify the real jeep to match

The RTR (Ready to Run) is $380, the kit is $300.

The RTR comes with the radio, motor, speed control, etc, and it's already built.

The Kit requires all of the above and is basically a box of parts you put together and chose your own radio gear, motor and speed control.

Kits > RTRs.

I've been thinking about doing an SCX10 2-door for a while now.
