JK Step Bars Recommendations...

Hiya. Happy 4th of July Weekend! I need side steps/nerf bars for a 2010 2-door Rubicon WITH OEM Rock Rails already installed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Yah, keep the rock rails. If you get side steps, you'll just have to remove them before going off road. The Rubicon was built for off road. You could have gotten side steps if you had downgraded and gotten a Sahara. Those are pretty!

Yeah, I guess I was unclear...

This vehicle belongs to my wife, who's shorter stature would benefit from a step. The vehicle was bought with the idea that it...along with my own '05...would be used to negotiate both the 100 acres we have in NY State which we visit from time to time (and need to drive around on), as well as the 37 acres we have in S. Carolina and are planing to build on, and will STILL need to drive around on. Both of these are our daily drivers as well since we can't afford, like many of you here I see, to have one vehicle for commuting to work and another to tackle the rougher stuff when we need to. While we won't be climbing trees or trying to subdue the Madderhorn like many of you seem to enjoy, we do need them to drive over undeveloped land. I thought I could find someone to help with an idea or two here since many of you seem so knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks anyway.

Poly Performance makes a DIY weld-on step to add onto the OEM Rubi rock rails. They're sturdy, assuming a decent welding job, and hold up well, assuming a good click-clack job $200 or so- Mark W.

We have the Mopar side steps on our 2dr 10 Rubi and like them. Of course the Rock Rails have to come off but it doesn't seem like it's going to affect how you're going to use it.
