JK Unlimited Questions

On the 07, you could order a "locking" rear diff and the swaybar disconnect on the Unlimited X. I went to a dealer today to look into ordering an 08, and on his computer, it did not allow those two options on either the X or the Sahara. You had to go to the Rubicon to get the disconnect. Is this true? I'm hoping a dealer out there can help me with this. I did find an 07 Unlimited X with these two options, but the dealer where we located it wants 1 thousand over sticker, so I decided to wait and see what gives.

Any help is appreciated! I'm hoping to order possibly this week!

BinaryKing on the board does sales at a Jeep dealership so he might be able to square that up for you.

08 being the second year of the model I'm sure they are going to make some slight variations in the options based on what worked and didn't with the previous year.

I'm hoping to not have to go all the way for a Rubicon so I can save a couple of grand. My wife ruled out the one in Ohio. She hates Rescue Green and wants it to be red or yellow. Anyone here with pics of an Unlimited in yellow?

4.10 axle ratio still available with towing package?

That would complete the deal!

I wonder what was wrong with the software my dealer was using? It showed the sway bar disconnect and the locking rear, but the check boxes were grey and did not allow them to be checked.

I have an 08 on order with limited slip rear, my wife also hated the rescue green so I changed my color to red rock pearl or something like that (after 40 years some fights are not worth fighting) I will love the color no matter what it is. I wanted a stick shift and they could not find one with all the options that I wanted so that is why they ordered one.
I had several questions that my local dealer could not answer so I called Jeep at 800-992-1997 and they were very helpful.
Good luck, I was told not to expect delivery until Sept or Oct. Still have not seen a 4 door up here but I need the extra room so ordered it any way.

While I would prefer the locking rear, if I could get a Trac Loc with the disconnect front sway bar, I'd still be inclined to go with an X instead of a Rubicon.

Thanks for the number. I'm going to a different dealer tomorrow evening, and will take it with me.

My wife called it "Puke Green". I'm so thrilled she's letting me get it, I'd almost take it in pink! (almost, I said!)

I love it. My wife wants red or yellow. I'm going to give her the full court press on the steel blue. We'll see what happens.

I went to my local small town dealer today and found that I could indeed order the Wrangler X the way I wanted. We were within $500 of a deal, and I walked. They offered me 500 less on my trade than I am willing to take. I told them to call me tomorrow if they can muster the 500 bucks. If they don't, I'll go an hour away to a dealer that I think will give me a better deal. Honestly, I think they will call tomorrow. We'll see. I'm getting excited. I decided today on steel blue.

Are the tires on the 17" wheels the same size as the tires on the Rubicon, which also has 17" wheels?

They are BFG Mud Terrains. But are they the same size as the tires that come on the 17" rims that are available on the X?
