Search can be your friend. I posted that a couple of months ago. http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/thi...ift-52886.html

I think it might depend on the dealer. My dealer does lifts, wheels and larger tires and then puts the Jeep in the showroom and usaully sell it very quickly. I asked my salesman if those Jeeps still had the factory warranty and the said "absolutely".

Q: How can you tell if a car salesman is lying?

A: His lips will be moving.

read the whole story, his warranty got reinstated. what they were trying to do is illegal. a suspension lift cannot void the warranty on the exhaust system. EVERY person who modifies their vehicles should get to know SEMA VERY well. Specialty Equipment Market Association

Sinister's point is 100% accurate.

Know your rights and fight tooth and nail for them.

Wow. I hadn't checked back on the thread in a while. As it turns out, I'm the person who found that information in the owners manual which ultimately lead to getting the flag lifted.

I have had buddy's blow up NP242OR transfer cases on the trail and get them warranted and others with rattling tail gates and doors on TJ's have dealers refuse to warrant the issues due to them deaming the issues being caused by wheeling, definitely depends on the dealer and how hard the jeep owner fights them.

A better method id to work with them and not fight them. The way warranty works is that they have to submit paperwork to Chrysler to get paid. Chrysler may deny the work or ask to see the defective part to determine if it should be covered. Work with the dealer through Chrysler to get the work covered and things will go much smoother.

Damn,, the story was down right upsetting!!! that poor guy, thank God they took the flag off his Jeep.(as it should be). That would make me want to go in that dealership with about five guys behind me and cause some serious havoc in the service department. ( I am kidding)

If I put a Borla stainles steel duel exhaust on my 08 Rubicon ,should I expect any issues with the dealership?? what do I need to know?(the rest of my jeep is stock) Thanks, AJ

it will void any warranty on the exhaust. if you don't touch the cat, your emission system warranty cannot be voided. that's the whole point of the "cat-back" exhaust.

i had my borla dual stainless exhaust installed BY the dealer and when I asked the service manager about the warranty, he said that the vehicle records had been updated to show that it was dealer installed. Of course, Borla's warranty on this exhaust is a bit tough to beat, but it's nice to know that the dealer (at least the service side) is working with me...

Your warranty cant necessarily be "void"

They cant say they wont fix a warranty problem with your radio because you have a lift. They cant say they wont fix a motor problem under warranty because of your lift unless of course it can be directly linked to the lift itself.

I've asked this question many times having worked for a Ford dealer and owning a supercharged 2006 Mustang and working for a Chrysler/Jeep dealer and owning a modified Jeep.

I'm getting a roof rack which is drilled into my hardtop. Spoke w/ the warranty department and they said it would not void or effect my warranty. If I ever install a lift I would call them beforehand.
