JK Wrangler Rubicon AEV Teraflex Hybrid

Alright, before I get started, I've searched for this, however, it's an odd enough setup I haven't found anything. (Which also may be my first clue...)

I'm definitely going with the AEV 4.5 inch system. AEV Conversions N0244110AA - AEV 4.5" DualSport RS Suspension System with Bilstein 5160 Shocks for 07-12 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimtied JK 4 Door with LHD - Quadratec

I'm looking at possibly upgrading to a LA later in life. Yes, I know it's not absolutely necessary for a 4.5 inch lift.

I am extremely impressed with the lift quality of the AEV system, from an outside observer standpoint only. I do not have one yet.

I am even more impressed with the quality of the control arms from TeraFlex.

This brings me to my question, how well would a LCG TeraFlex Long Arm Upgrade (Elite LCG JK Long Arm Upgrade Kit-Arms and Brackets | TeraFlex Suspensions) work with the AEV base system? I haven't seen anyone with something of the sort, but if there is someone, please let me know. In my mind, it should retain most of the driveability and on-road manners of the AEV base kit, but provide even more flex when off road. The LA kit would be a future upgrade, as it's meant to be and so my wallet doesn't commit suicide, but does anyone foresee problems with this setup?

If this has been asked, please point me in the right direction, I've searched and not found anything close.

Thanks,

~Sam

I hear several people say that the AEV rides better than stock, even at 4.5" of lift. Now I understand what they mean. You'll love the setup, drives like a car, but can take a speed bump at 55mph like nothing I've ever driven...
That said, it has plenty of travel (make sure you take care of the exhaust issue...). Not sure you can get much more travel out of the AEV, or that you'd really need it....

3.5" or 4.5" kit and which shocks are you running? I'm considering one of the AEV lifts because of the nice ride.

I went with the 4.5" kit. Running the Bilstein 5160 Remote Reservoir shocks that come with the RS option.
It's impressive when you put it to work. When I first got my Rubi, I took it down a street nearby that has several dips just to get a feel for what the suspension was like. At 35mph, the bump was pretty bad and it felt like the whole thing bottomed out. With the AEV kit, I went down the same road and kept increasing the speed, since it would just absorb it like it wasn't there. That truly impressed me, since I drive there often, and remember the feeling of the stock suspension. I did not go above 55mph, not because it felt like it was bottoming out or not absorbing it as well, but because I started to get some lifting on the rear end as it came out of the dip. Possible caught a little air back there.
This thing shines, I'm totally drinking the AEV Kool-Aid now....
