Ok! so I was going for a ride today in my wrangler, used the remote to start the engine. I opened the back door to put a bag on the seat, and I noticed, for the first time in 4 months, that the air was blowing like if I forgot it to the max. I double checked and all the air controls were off. The temperature was set to the coolest and the air was kinda warm but not heated warm. Closed the door and opened the driver's door and the air turned off.
So I turned off the engine, waited a minute, did the same process... and again the same thing! I did it many times and tried all the doors, and only when you open the driver's door the air turns off. Funny that I do the same routine everyday and never noticed the air until today!
Is that normal? does it have a purpose?
Any one have this issue or am I going something something!!
Funny, Yesterday while I was laying under my jeep putting my new steering stabilizer on I rolled onto my key fob in my pocket and hit the remote start. (Glad my hands were not near anything rotating) When I climbed out from under the running Jeep I opened the pass side door and the AC was blowing full. All the knobs were on off. I could not shut it off with the knobs. When I shut the door and went to the drivers side the engine shut off. When I started it with my key the AC was no longer on. This was the first and only time I've seen this.

I almost wish I would not have gotten remote start. Especially when the price jumped from $200 to $495. The compressor blows in the winter time when you use remote start. I can't remember the parameters..below 40 and above 80 I think.
I don't have the auto climate system either!
Never was a big fan of remote starter but since it was already installed, I'm kinda abusing how many times I use it!
Not sure if it's really bad thing or if it will cause me any future damage on my Jeep, but for sure I would like to show it to the dealer and see what they have to say!
Mine does NOT have auto climate. I passed on it because I thought it was part of the issue. Mine will still turn on the compressor. It is part of the programming.
You know, I'm dropping mine off at the dealership for a 430N/730N swap on Wednesday. I'd almost guarantee they will have it all day anyhow since I'll be at work. Maybe I'll mention the AC issue to them and see if there is a TSB for this we don't know about. Never hurts to check?
2013 JK Unlimited Sahara Flame Red
2013 JKR without automatic climate control and remote start. As I understand, when using remote start, if the OSA temp is above or below a certain temperature, the heater or AC will run at MAX until the drivers door is opened. Then the system resumes normal operation. This of course is designed to heat or cool the cabin until entry and in cold climate warm the engine. Very useful where I live as it can get 118+.
2013 JKUR, without climate control, mine does the same, full blast until the drivers door is open. I have also experienced a few times where the blower kicked off and switched something while driving then returned to normal... I am perplexed by that behavior... The auto starter and drivers door theory sounds legit, but I'm not sure about the cutting out?
