JKU sahara, Difference in stock Audio vs. the Upgraded audio"premium sound package"

JKU sahara, Difference in stock Audio vs. the Upgraded audio"premium sound package"

I am looking at the difference in the stock base sound system vs. the upgraded premium sound system and wondering if it is worth it about $800 more with the leather package (around $2000 total) vs just buying the leather seats by it self at $1100.

Thank you

The "Premium" leather is Katzkins.
Car Leather Upholstery | Custom Auto Leather Interiors by Katzkin

All Sahara's and Rubi's come with the Premium sound system, which upgrades the speakers to Alpine's (used to be Infinity), adds an amp and adds a subwoofer.

So if you are ordering a Sahara, you will automatically get the Premium sound system.
You can order the factory leather (with heated seats), or you can order the upgraded leather (with heated seats).

I saw the "premium leather" in a new Rubicon today. The Jeep had the black and tan interior, and the leather that was put in was GRAY. Not even close to looking like either the black or the tan parts. A monumental fail, IMO.

They are all "leather seating surface" with the rest vinyl.

I'm pretty sure the seats are all leather on the Sahara, but I could be wrong. It does say leather trimmed. But I am paying $1,300 for them.

The regular leather has a rougher feel than the usual car leather. The premium leather is much softer and smoother as you find in most cars.

I know for a fact the regular leather trimmed seats are in fact vinyl in the sides. I am curious as to what the katzkins are like. We are sending a sport in for the katzkins in the very near future and I will report back with photos.

Any Jeep sound system, whether stock or the premium sound package suck IMHO. If you're really into sound, you'll want to replace all the speakers and amp, along with the sub-woofer. There are many write ups on this forum about the audio system in the Jeeps.

X2. Don't waste money on the upgraded system, if you want good sound. If you aren't picky you might be ok with it.

I'm not sure it's worth the money, but the quality is definitely very nice... It's definitely not "Black" though. I don't think the color of this leather would look good with a tan interior.
