JKUR Side Window Popping Out

I am a first-time wrangler owner, and bought a JKUR last fall with the dual top option. I left the hard top on for a while, but have recently tried installing the (premium) soft top. The installation was not a problem, however, when I drive more than 40 or 50 mph the front edge of the side window pops out of the rear door frame and starts flapping in the wind. It's quite a problem in the winter, as its loud and quite cold as well when this happens. This is mainly happening on the driver's side, but has happened to the passenger side as well. It's the brand new premium soft top, so the hardware can't be worn out yet. I'm sure its something I'm doing in the install, but I can't seem to figure it out. Can anybody help me out with this? Thanks a bunch.

My guess is it is installed wrong. You have to tuck that plastic channel near the window in at a 90 degree angle so it folds around and wont blow out at highway speed. Made the same mistake when I first got my JK and put the soft top back up that first time. :)

You need to make sure you tuck the groove of the window into the grove of the door frame. Once you get the window in properly a few times things loosen up and it gets easier.

I had this same issue when I first ran my soft top and since I was shown the proper way have never had a problem again.

Great, thanks for the info, the video was especially helpful. I have tried to tuck the window groove into the door groove again, before zipping the window up, and it still slides out some, especially towards the top, when I'm done zipping the window up. I haven't driven down the road yet, but it looks exactly the same as before, like it will pop out while I'm driving down the road. I may try taking out the door frame and reinstalling that, to see if that is the problem.

Dude, this thread saved me from an angry, entirely foolish rant at the Jeep dealer. To my credit, I wasn't shown how to tuck the L's in properly when I bought my Jeep. To my DIScredit, man, I really should have been able to figure this out on my own. Glad to know this seems to be a common newb mistake. I just drove from Dallas to Houston at 55 miles an hour, stopping every half hour to try to retuck the windows. Man, those L brackets are going to complete my life now that I know how to use them. This forum just went up about 10 clicks for this newb. Thanks a mil!

Ditto!

This saved me from getting embarrassed too.

I knew there was no way I had those things installed correctly! But it looked like it went together perfectly!

Thanks a lot for the info!

First, I've been driving Jeeps for 20 years, always having a soft top option. Watched the video (not that I haven't watched the JEEP ones before). I have a preference for the fast-back roof line, and went with the Rampage because I like the window storage pocket. My passenger's side window ALWAYS pops out. It's seated properly (as in, I know what I am doing). Rampage suggested using a rubber mallet. I explained that it wasn't an issue of not seating fully, it's an issue of popping free. But, in the interest of science, out came the rubber mallet. It seats properly, then pops free with time (even if just sitting, but faster when driving). After offering no viable explanation, they sent me a new roof... with the old problem. It's not in my head, it's not something I'm doing incorrectly. My question is, is there a simple way of "fluffing" the weather stripping on that door (perhaps sliding a strip of foam or cord into the weather stripping itself)?
