So the fenders are plastic and the hardtop is fiberglass. The fenders will fade to grey over time but products like "back to black" usually do the trick. The top you wouldn't have to worry about fading.
As far as getting everything color matched or not it's all down to personal preference. I personally don't like color matched tops all that much but don't mind color matched fenders
By your inquiry about the fenders fading, that tells me that you want painted fenders. Yes, the black ones do fade, and they will fade no matter what you try to do to prevent it. And while there are products out there that will make them LOOK black, they still won't BE black. Get the painted fenders and you'll be happier based upon what I am reading into your question.
Depends on the color of the body paint I would say. I like the look of black fenders and black top on billet silver paint. I would not have taken painted fenders or top if you paid me.
A wrangler with painted fenders and top has the appearance of a much larger vehicle then one with the standard black top and black rubber fenders. This is especially true in the lighter colors, but I like them painted to match the vehicle, I'm a Street Rod'er at heart, very little off-road for me.
I have a fully painted Dune JKU Sahara and a Commando Green Rubicon with black fenders; it was do much easier to clean the painted fenders that I got a set of Commando Green painted fenders on Craigslist and put them on my JKR. Done.
Also the painted roof keeps the interior cooler in a hot day than the black hardtop.
