I wanted to thank those who posted in the forums for all the advice on their great deals and opinions on the jeep. I did look into heading up to see pat up in Chicago but I wanted to check first with local dealers to check their inventory. I got a 2012 Sahara unlimited deep cherry red loaded: leather, heated seats, connectivity group, chrome package, Max tow, supplent airbags, auto, limited slip, air cond temp control, body 3 pc color, media center 730, engine block heater, remote start and mats. Msrp was $39960 We paid $34450!! $5510 off or 14.8%. With no back and forth no haggling. And honestly was the easiest painless car experience we ever had.
I first googled cars and it gave me aol's website for cars. I did a search for dealers thru Texas that had my car in the color I wanted. Since I really wanted red. I then googled all those dealerships and checked their inventory. If I found what I was looking for with options. Which was alot less than what I got then I put that info in a spreadsheet to keep them organized. Most of them had make an offer button on them. So after I searched. I put in my online offers. I could've done what most do and get the 1-2% under invoice. But my deal was alot better. I saw a thread on here that someone got 11% off theirs up in VA and I said I have to get that. So all my bids were 11% off.
I immediately heard back from 4 out of the 8 I submitted. And with only one accepted It basically said we accept your bid AND well lower the price if you buy within 24 hours. So we emailed back and said what's the price since our car was shown in transit. Our sales rep was like well I'll give you the one here in our lot that has the chrome package and some other options at the same price. Which was like another 1800 more sticker. Needless to say we said yes and applied thru ally bank since we don't belong to a credit union. They came back with a higher rate than expected but since mark asked me prior to applying what I wanted my rate at he had a seller concession done and lowered the rate for us at no cost. Not only that but by time we came in to sign the next day the rate was even lower than what he told us the night before!
We got a great deal, a great rate, a great sales guy, and best of all a great car. All very seamless. They paid for our cab ride from the airport too! I loved that we never had to ask for more. It's a completely different experience than we expected. And they had over 79 wrangler unlimiteds in stock! We bought from mark Gusman the Internet manager at river oaks Chrysler jeep dodge in Houston Texas.
Oh and they thru in the oh sh!t handle bars too! Lol
