Hey guys not sure if any of you know but on ebay there is a seller selling fortin remote start kits which are plug and play for only 100 bucks! I just installed on and it works great! Also works with factory key! Can't complain about that!
Thanks for the "heads up". I went to Ebay, found it, and watched the installation video. Seems like a nice inexpensive solution. What is the range of reception on the remote start?
I have a 2014 and went ahead and bout it anyway... Seems to work fine even though it's not listed... The range is the same as it would take to unlock or lock the vehicle... Not to bad can't complain... Would I like it to be longer? Yes but it's not necessary
been using it all day, can't complain works great! FYI the 3 screws that you need to take out of the bottom of the steering wheel column are torx 20. :0
I went with the dball, $90 with shipping on Ebay, looks similar. The harness is just before the key. Install took all of fifteen minutes. Read the manual before purchasing, some of the optional programming is awesome, and the seller will flash for you
Yeah you just unlock it and put the key in turn it on like normal nothing happens because it's already running... Put your foot on the brake shift it into drive and it's like normal... The 15 minutes is just an automatic shutoff
Yes. From what I understand, there is zero difference in functionality between this and the OEM remote start. The programming seems to be the same, just that this uses an aftermarket module to trigger the remotestart sequence rather than the Mopar one. The only difference I can see is using the lock button vs the remote start button on the remote.
I'm assuming since you have to push the knob in to turn on the A/C that even if you turn the Jeep off with the A/C running and temp control all the way on cold that it won't activate the A/C on remote start.
Do you think it affects the factory warranty in anyway? Or should we just remove it when we take it in for service. Since it's play and play you can probably take it in and out as much as you want.
FYI I love this forum and hate it at the same time. This forum makes it real easy to spend lots of $$$$ cash.
100 dollars here, $99 dollars there.... Now empty
But in the long run, youre saving money because everyone posts really good deals and stuff.
