Just made a downpayment on a '13 JKUR

I just came from the dealer here in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia after making a downpayment on a new '13 JKUR (M/T) Billet and Dark Saddle interior. Personally, I think the price is competitive compared to '14 JKUR (A/T) as total price was around $35,000 compared to a whopping $46,000+

Here are the specs:

What do you think? Was it a good deal? Anything else to look for?

That's the average price here in the states. I was gonna pull the trigger this past weekend on a jkur for 32k but it was sold before i planned to head out to the dealer.

Well, you definitely get a better price while instead, we pay for what is available and don't have much of a choice

Sorry to hear that you couldn't make the purchase but I'm sure you'll have another, probably better, chance

Cheers

I'm sure we don't have many Saudi's, but based on the prices here in the US, that seems average to higher side, especially if it doesn't have the Power Package.

i spend roughly 75 a week on gas... and thats filling up around 17gallons. thats 300 a month. i could drop it to 7.65 if its .40 a gallon so 30.6 a month. still half than what i pay for at the pump each time.

Well, we pay the difference in:
  • Higher Jeep prices
  • Limited varieties
  • Higher aftermarket prices (Mostly imported, which means no returns!!!)
  • Single dealer == higher spare part prices and after sales costs

Just imagine the dealer doesn't have any Rubicon Jeeps for test drive! They only have a 2 door JK Sport S and a 4 door Sahara! According to the sales rep, they don't want to lose much in providing a Rubicon for test drive as this will help them sell more Rubicons rather than keeping one for test drive.

On the other hand, there were no Rubicons before 2013 in Saudi!

I think gasoline here in the US was at .45 cents a gallon in the 1960's. The lowest I remember was like .89 gallon and I'm 46...back in the late 80's

Well price of gas has climbed since I went there in 82. If I remember it was around $ 0.08. Do you still need to be near empty to fill it up ?

People in England are saying the same thing every time someone in the US or Canada complains about gas prices.

At an average price of 1.3 UK pounds / litre, that would equate to about 8.20$ / gallon here. There are other countries in Europe with even more expensive gas.

So, keep it in perspective

With only one dealer in town, it sounds like you're getting a good deal.

Any particular reason you don't want the power package?

Hmmmm...90 octane is $0.45 a gallon - Any chance you could send me a few thousand gallons of fuel? I'd even pay $0.75 a gallon!

Exactly my point, thank you. I really think it is a fair price with the only dealer in Saudi Arabia. Although, I don't recall saying I don't want it, in fact I'm excited that it does have it.

I almost forgot! Should I send you my bank account number?
