Just tried the "cheap and easy paint mod"...

I just tried out this paint mod http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/che...od-197494.html

I liked the way it turned out so much, I tried it out on the bezels of the air vents! It turned out great. I used the same technique as the original mod.

Here are some pics:

If I color matched, it'd be pretty boring. I have black!!

I shouldn't have opened this thread, especially not the original how-to thread! Short Bus is going to get some colorful accents, thanks to you bad influences...

Nice pics, All!

BE careful if you painted your trim, and you want to put the lettering over it. the process may strip off your existing paint!

Looks great, nice to know i can paint my silver ones satin black and then do this method to get the letters same color as my Jeep. Guessing you used very little mineral spirits so you didn't wipe off the blue?

I actually ordered the mopar dash kit and spent a ton of money on it. It could be easily replicated though. If you want to paint it first I would suggest primer a couple layers then several layers of clear coat before the lettering though. I have my factory dash kit for the '11 sport if any of you guys want to PM me an offer you can take it off my hands.

I need some help, what accent colors would go good with a Maroon exterior? Thoughts?

That's a neat looking mod...not sure if white would look as good as these though.

I think it looks great in white. That is the color Jeep used for the accents with the Polar package.

if you don't want too much of a difference maybe just try the factory silver with the matching maroon lettering

I want it to pop out but not look ridiculous in the process. Someone suggested gun metal grey. I already have a grey interior and don't want to overkill it.

i have the polar edition and my trim is already white, i'd like to fill out the jeep lettering in them with a hydro blue but I'm worried about the possibility of the white scrubbing off...any thoughts ? or will it be ok to go ahead and do it ?
