JW Speaker 6145 LED Fog Lamp Install on 13 or 14 JK?

Was wanting to see if anyone has installed the J.W. Speaker 6145 LED Fog Lamps on a 2013 or 2014 Jeep JK?

If so was wanting to see if they powered up and ran fine using by splicing into the original JK fog light wires, with no additional wiring needed? I have a set on order, but was looking for input from someone with a newer model Jeep before I attempted it.

As long as it isn't a Rubi x or a 10th anniversary you'll be fine. There are some mounting problems with the 6145 and the bumpers that the above referenced models use. The standard bumper works just fine though for the 6145's. Also if you don't want to cut into the factory wires, there are finally adapter harnesses out there(not sure if I can reference the sellers)

BaboonBP,

It is a 14 Sahara. Unfortunately I had already cut the stock plug ends off trying to hook up some other fogs, (55w halogens) but the canbus would not work with them. After a few tries with those fogs I decided to go with the JW Speaker LED's due to hearing they were "plug and play" with only splicing on 2010 and up JK's needed.

I plan to hook them up and test them first and if all is well will just go ahead and solder the JW's onto the factory leads.

Thanks for the heads up however on a harness being available and for the input!

Got the JW Speaker 6145 hooked up today. Finally an aftermarket fog that works with the 2014 canbus and also the stock fog light switch!!

Soldered the new lights right to factory wires and no problems at all. Mounts were also 100% right on, just remove the old and screw the new lights in.

Thanks to those who took the time to reply!

Hey guys,

Do you all know if the 6145's bracket aligns with the factory holes or does one have to drill new mounting holes in the light's bracket/frame for proper alignment and mounting?

I ask as I have a PSC Brawler Lite bumper with the factory fogs installed and want to replace them with the 6145's but I'd rather not remove the winch and bumper to make the swap if these will align with my current oem mount setup?

Thank you for any help, Scott

The 6145 brackets lined up perfectly on my stock oem bumper, no problems whatsoever. Used the stock holes and stock screws to mount then.

Not sure if I can link the vendor, but if you do a Google search for 'jeep jk wrangler led foglight housing adapter wires' you will find a vendor that has a harness for sale. With the 2014 you have you will want the 2504 bulb version.

You can also order the connectors separately and solder/heat shrink a set up yourself. I'd have to dig up the connectors you need, so if you want that info instead just let me know.

Google searched 'jw speaker fog light 6145 install' and this popped up. Thanks for the info BaboonBP! I probably would have been searching for a while had you not posted about the housing adapter google search.

When I installed the JW Speaker 6145's in my '14, I had a flicker. The anti flicker harness from headlight revolution fixed it.

Thank you for the link H3.... yousa only $19 for the wire but $19-$35 for shipping (???) seems a little odd for something so light.

Online thievery.

That's why I won't order online from 99% of American vendors. They usually want ridiculous shipping fees.

Anybody know what the head type and size is for 6145 foglight height adjustment?
Mine are installed and now I can't see the end of the adjustment screw.

Thank you. Question: the JW Speaker 6145 foglight has a spring loaded screw that I can not see because they are installed in my bumper.
Does anyone Know if it is a torx or hex and what size.
Much appreciated.
I know the aiming "process" just need adjustment screw head info.

For the stock headlights - yes.
It says T-15 for JWS foglights too?
If you could direct me to the post in that link I'd appreciate it. Read it 3 times I do not see that.

I am really dumbfounded that this simple piece of info is available NoWhere.
$1200 for lights - No instructions and calling the company
They don't know. Engineer says, "turn the screw" no shit. Really?

I ordered a pair of 6145's from Headlight Revolution at 3:00 PM PDT and they shipped the same day and they are located 2 hours behind me. Great service!

I also ordered the wire adaptor to the 2504 bulb. I don't get it because you are no longer using the 2504 bulb and that is what it was made for so I ended up splicing and soldering but either way they look and work great.

Maybe! :-)

In all honesty, I *thought* the 6145s just had a simple Philips screw head on them for an adjuster.

I can't be 100% sure on the tool, however, I did take a few minutes to aim my 6145s alongside the 8700s when I installed mine.

I basically aimed the 8700s first, then aimed the 6145s to appropriately fill in the void between the 8700 pattern and the front of the Jeep. Once I had what I thought looked right dialed it, I had my wife drive the Jeep while I drove in front of her in another vehicle to ensure that everything was pointed in the right direction and that I didn't have any hot spots.

Hope this helps!

I wrote that long post. It describes in detail how to aim headlights and foglights (the process, the tools, etc.). If you read it, and still have questions, please feel free to ask or PM me.
