Thanks for the info about the discount, I guess I can't wait for the version 2 and went ahead ordered them from Eric at Northridge4x4. UPS said, Monday, but it just recently updated to tomorrow that I will receive them. I do have the side Rotopax as well.

@TakHardRock ... I understand. I was gonna wait for version 2 as well but we're not sure if they are even going to make it.

I was more concerned of the condensation, but since JW Speaker is JW Speaker, I'm rest assured that it's covered.

I just picked up my set of JW S tails and installed them on my JKU. As mentioned here, really bright, though the driver's side plastic seems a tiny bit squeaky, and after reading here, I'm worried a bit about leaks. Has anyone had any problem with the actual light housing leaking? if it's just the metal compartment, I'll solve that with some foam to seal, but more curious about the build of the actual light since mine has a bit of plastic creak. It may mean me heading back to 4wheel parts and getting that extended warranty

I'm curious to know if anyone's had any problems with the resistor though? I'm not terribly worried about it on the passenger side, but the driver's side tail light compartment has the hitch wiring as well as the gas nozzle, making me a little antsy

My two cents. I sent mine back for leaking mainly because they didn't follow the curve of the body panels. But the leaking was behind the lights, not inside the lights.

Several of us checked the resistors after normal night driving and they weren't even warm. I had some high strength magnet hooks and routed my wires away from the resistors using those. All in all its a lot of work to make lights function properly, but I also miss mine.

Right on, thanks - I tucked all my wiring but will probably head back in with zipties and hooks to be safe. And yeah, I'll see if i can find some black sticky foam to handle any compartment leakage.

Seems the resistor thing is just a CYA from the manufacturer

Slightly off-topic:

I just took delivery of my Black Bear yesterday, and the first thing I did was pull the tail lights to install the JWS lights that have been waiting in my garage. When I pulled the passenger side tail light, there was a big mess of foam in there. Is this normal?

anyone know where I can get tamper resistant screws for these tail lights? Everywhere I check has a 100 dollar minimum. I only need 4 screws dammit!

I should be receiving mine today, but I'll wait for all my other goodies to come so I can install it all at once. I'll probably take a trip to my local fastenal store recommended by @RubiconSS for security.

UPS fooled around with me as I did not get it delivered on Wednesday, but instead today. Can't wait to go home and check it out. Can someone post part number of the tamper resistant screw? Thanks!

So... It arrived today and after dinner, I just kept on looking at the box. I told myself that I'll install it during the weekend once all my other goodies arrive. I also told myself that I wouldn't mod my jeep once purchased.

Opened it, prepared it, installed it, and let me say that I'm very satisfied with the fitment. No gaps besides the minuscule light gap. Time to go to fastenal during my lunch either tomorrow or Wednesday for sure to get some theft deterrent screws.

Received mine last night too and inspected them and they look great so far. It's been raining here until Wednesday so didn't get a chance to install them. Hope I won't have any issues. I don't see the DOT sticker in the light like the other guy got so that's good.

i went to my local Fastenal today before coming to work. The store had a huge $25 minimum purchase sign and to top things off, the gentleman told me that he could get me a theft deterrent bolt, however it comes in a set of 100.

Going to check another Fastenal store during the weekend.

@TakHardRock ... I found a company selling the theft deterrent screws but shipping is $10 minimum for a $10 item. I'm chatting with them now to see if I could get some sort of discount.

@TakHardRock ... $13.49 shipped. Give them a call and talk to Eric since they don't offer USPS on their website and only UPS. USPS was $3.50 shipped. 774-826-9948.

Its probably just that one store I went to. Very meticulously clean, and great customer service. I was greeted right away and helped out with my question. The minimum pricing, and then 100ct minimum for the bolt swayed me away.

As it would me. Obviously a "ploy" to cater to the Contractor crowd, probably would have asked for your "account information" next if you had advanced to the purchase step.
All they did was accomplish NOT selling you a few (pricey) bolts.

These screws look like you can get a key from Harborfreight.

you probably can. If thieves want it, they'll get it. Just making it harder for them just gives me piece of mind.

It's the age old argument, Hell IF we all went by what thieves could/couldn't do - we wouldn't lock anything up.

It's all about making "the other guys stuff" more convenient basically, not to sound like a dick.
That is what we do when we lock ALL our stuff up and others do not.

IF I was a P.O.S. thief I know where I'd go, path of least resistance.
