K&N Replacement filter VS stock

Is it worth buying the K&N replacement filter for the stock air box? Does it make a noticeable difference in throttle response, Gas Mileage, etc.??

not sure if there is a performance gain, but it will save you from replacing the stock one every other oil change. Figure the cost of that in your decision.

Theres a ton of threads on this...I was in this same situation with my TJ and decided to just put on in and see if i had any positive gains vs the negatives.

Biggest negative would be how much more dirt the KN filter will let in vs a stock paper filter.

I avg'd out my last gas tank and am currently doing the same with the KN filter in so not sure what it will do to the mileage, but i do feel a better throttle response with the drop in filter. There are some hills where i dont need to downshift where i normally would of with the previous filter.

Best thing, just pick one up off ebay (got mine for 30 bucks) and put it in...worst case scenario is you could sell it.

I run one on mine. I live at a barn with a dirt parking lot/driveway, and travel dirt roads frequently. I oil my Mopar/K&N filter every 5K miles (every oil change), and have yet to notice any increase in dust intake. If you live in the desert, maybe it'll be an issue, but I have no problems, even with my RR snorkel- Mark W.

Your going to get worse mileage for some time until the filter actually gets a bit dirty. There have been studies ran that showed kn filters running better once they had visible amounts of dirt on them vs being completely clean. They filter alot better once their dirty.
