Katzkin???

For those familiar with Katzkin, is it a seat cover or complete re-upholster? More specifically, does it look like factory leather once installed. This will be for a '13 JKU.

Removes factory material and replaces it.

I don't think that you remove the factory. I think that it goes over. So you will still have the cloth underneath. So it is a "seat cover" but complete. From what I have heard the fitment is good and the leather and color choices are superior.

I am pretty sure I read that the Leather on the Factory Jeeps were made by KatSkinz in the first place. They make a great product.

You're correct warbird...Katzkhin does make the leather seats for the Jeep. I had to settle for cloth in mine because I didn't want to order my Jeep, and they had one on the lot in stock that had everything I wanted option wise except the leather. Glad to know that I can upgrade easily later on after the cloth wears out!

They replace the factory cloth, we actually have the cloth covers in a box!

The Katzskins order leather is far better than the factory leather, and you can customize.

Thumbs up

I just posted my experience before I saw this post. They are pretty easy to install if you do them yourself. I did my rear seat after work during the week and the fronts last Saturday. They can be done in a day if you don't take a million breaks like me, lol.

Installed my Katzkins

Also, the cloth does come off.

Thanks for the correction. My dealer had stated differently, but he wasn't the accessory guy, so he might have screwed it up. The factory leather definitely hasn't in the past been as nice as Katzkin. I haven't seen the new leather yet, but it had been told to me that it falls somewhere in between, nicer quality than the old leather, still not as nice as the new leather. That is why they don't offer a Katzkin upgrade from the factory anymore, just dealer installed, because it was supposedely nicer. You definitely get the cool choices with Katzkin, and those that I have seen were really nice.

Yours looks great, I dig the look. Do your perforations get dirty? I have AC seats on a vehicle, so the seats are perforated, but not with a background color like that. Mine get gunked up and it takes forever to clean out the perforations.
