KC Apollo - need help with wiring

Hi all. I got a set of KC Apollo 6" lights, and put them on today. Took me like 3 hours to get these things on and wired - still don't have the switch fully mounted but that's ok. Anyway, turned the switch on and twice it blew the fuse.

I have everything wired per the KC installation diagram attached, only difference is I have the supply wired to the terminal in the fuse box which I think may be fed from the - side of the battery but that shouldn't matter right?

Can you guys offer some help? This is driving me nuts.

Thanks.

As long as your white wire is getting 12 volts power (positive side), that should be good. Check your green and white wires for damage or loose connections that could cause a short. Make sure your switch is good or the wires are connected on the correct posts.

....I'm assuming you're blowing the switch fuse ( 3 amp ).

No it's the new in line fuse on the supply side that is blowing. It's a 20A fuse.

Check your connections on the switch again. Sounds like you have them mixed up so power is going directly to ground, causing the fuse to blow.

In this case your yellow wire is also suppose to be getting 12 volts same as your white wire. A short due to funky connections or damage applies here aswell. Do you have a multimeter?

I'm looking at the same diagram I believe, white has 3A fuse, yellow is 20A. Correct?

When I wired my apollos it only has one online fuse. The post above is correct tho. The way you have it wired, you're connecting power straight to ground with the switch and that's blowing the fuse. Make sure the all of the wires are plugged into the correct pin on the switch. Take care to notice which way the light on the switch is on the diagram and that'll help

Got it figured out guys - thanks. I had the ground and the load wires swapped so the thing automatically shorted out. The lights work great now!

Congrats! My light kit had a faulty relay, I had to use a multimeter to trace it back to my problem when the fuses were blowing.
