I have a 2013 JK that is stock and not lifted. I keep getting high beamed at night by passing cars. The vehicle was involved in a front end collision 4 months ago, but was fixed by an auto body shop. The high beams work when switched, but they are just a little brighter then the low beams. I did adjust the headlights downward, but Im still getting high beamed. Is this normal (low beams being this bright)? or is it possible the body shop did something wrong?

I've been driving trucks, Jeeps, and SUV's since the 1970's. I run into that all the time when driving any of them, never in the car. You may have an issue that requires adjustment, may not. None of mine have ever been lifted, they just set up a little higher than cars and they "think" you are running brights.
Sometimes I reach for the dimmer switch out of habit and flash them back. Not trying to be a jerk, I just react. When I realize the error I go back to lows. At other times I just ignore them.
My stock headlights are properly adjusted and I get flashed several times a night. Mainly from lower little cars. I just try to ignore it unless they act crazy. Then I flash them back and hold the brights on.. :flipoff:

It's difficult if not impossible to precisely adjust the stock lamps on new Wranglers because they don't have a well defined cutoff. They can't be adjusted horizontally either unless you buy horizontal adjustment posts.
Having said that, I never got flashed with my stock headlights on my 13'. I mean never, and I've never been flashed with my Cibie's running 70w/65 Osram's, and I mean never.

There is no problem adjusting the headlights at all. The trick is that there is an upper and lower cut off which produces a very narrow beam. This means that it is imperative for the lights to be properly aimed. Adding lifts and leveling kits is enough to throw the headlights out to be virtually useless.
I used to get flashed all the time when i had stock lights. The stock lamps scatter the light all over and are not all that great (many threads on this) I went to hella e code lamps with a 100/80 bulb also which is brighter then oem stock of 65/55. The brighter bulbs work great and being the lamps have a cut off line horizontally you can adjust them to your liking. They also shine off to the right to see street signs better and any suicidal deer that may want to use you as their escape from life The bulbs i have are not legal but i have used these headlamps for years in various other vehicles I have owned and never been flashed or hassled by LEO's . You can use the bulbs that come with the lamps which are the legal wattage of 65/55 but I like the brightness of the higher wattage bulbs for my type of backwoods driving..125.00 for lamps, bulbs and harness. the lights I am refering too are on the cover of the 2014 Jeep brouchure at the dealer...
there are better lamps out there and some for many more $$ (again may threads on this subject) but I feel these are the best for the $ spent IMHO

You moved from an H13 bulb to a pretty bright H4. Major change.
Those 80/100 must be bright as hell. I use 65/70 and they are already bright.
You have any pics and what is your bulb life?
