Dunno at all why they would kill color that is popular. They just killed Sahara Tan on the 2012's and it's one of the best selling colors. The new Dozer yellow won't be a real yellow...at least it looks that way.

May have been popular in certain areas of the country, but from a business perspective, if it's not popular from a national standpoint, then it gets killed. You'd think that Jeep would alter its color selection based on geographical locations. Maybe some colors would be offered in particular areas of the country, but not others. I know that we do that with architectural coatings.

Smile 'The Detn8r' cometh!

Well folks, i couldn't believe the user name 'detn8r' wasn't taken. Since i named my jeep 'the detn8r', and the topic here was to see 'Dentonator Yellow' jk's, i could not resist.

I think I'm also the yellow jeep club 2008 member. :-)

the seat covers came off of ebay at 'seatglovers' and are great quality and the material is almost water proof. If you leave it in the sun all of the time, the color will fade, but i've had two sets of these in two jeeps, and am very happy with the quality. these came with headrests, and they even sent me some extra material so that i could use it for door handles inside, etc.

They fit very well to the seats, and hold up really well to wear. almost none after 1 1/2 of use so far. saves the original seats for sure.

bought mine for about 199.00 or less i think, and then for 20 $ had the 'Jeep' put on both rear headrests, and my wife's/and mine initials on the front head rests.

Just to make the jeep more personal. If you can't find the vendor on ebay, just let me know and i'll track it down.

Cu-l8tr.

the black wheels came from 'www.ultrawheel.com'. the company is in california, and is a distributor through discount tire. the exact wheel is called the 'Maverick - 234/235 gloss black. it also comes with a silver cap that is 'semper fi'. since i was in the marines and a sargeant, i'm looking to get that one cap for my new spare. the cost per wheel is between $110 and $140 based on who you get it through. there are probably other vendors selling this, so you could check around.

on this site, there are a number of black wheels, if someone is looking for something.
Ultra Wheel : general page.
Ultra Wheel : details on the maverick version.

enjoy.

if you are interested, the whole approach of using a 5 tire rotation with matching spare will allow all tires to be evenly worn and you will get an extra 10,000 miles out of the tires. I plan to rotate them every 5000 miles when i get the new spare matching. I already got the mickey t. 265/75/16 tire online from tiretown for only 217$ shipping included. saved about 50$ instead of ordering from discount tire.

good luck.

The wires unplug just under the dash. I keep mine unplugged cause I don't always have my much thinner and more limber wife with me to plug or unplug them for me when I need. I need to figure out how to make that wire longer so I can more easily get to it. There are disadvantages to leaving the wires unplugged.

Evidently there are nuts on the bottom of the door pins that need to come off. I bought my jeep without anything on the pins and I never really inspected that too close.

Unplug the wire (it's a tricky plug to operate, wife knows better than me), be sure to remember to unhook the little black stop strap, standing outside facing the front either side reach your arm inside and grab the inside door handle. With the other hand reach down somewhat near the hinge side and lift up. It may seem like it isn't coming but it will and all of a sudden you will have the door loose.

I was just at my local Jeep dealer in Tempe, AZ. They have a new 2 door Sahara in Detonator Yellow in the showroom. I didn't think DY was available for the 2012. Could it be a leftover 2011 or a late availability color for 2012?

OK. False alarm. I just checked the dealer inventory online and it's a 2011. Now you see why I don't post very often...
