key fob doesn't work after sitting for a few days?

Hi, my buddy has a '09 wrangler and if he doesn't drive it for a few days his key fob won't unlock the doors and he has to use the key in the door which then sets off the alarm. right after he shuts the doors and hits lock, the key fob will unlock the doors perfectly fine. any ideas? he went through the manual and didn't find anything

Has he tryed the other doors when he hits unlock , the reason I ask is I have the unlimited and 3 of the 4 doors unlock easy , but 1 of them will stick and wont unlock , its like its weak or something . Does his front light light up when he hits unlock? Or when he locks it?? Also if he hits the panic button does the horn blow???Maybe weak battery in transmitter????

Take it to the dealer and show them what it does, the warranty should cover it.
