Killer price or wait for 2014 ?

How about this, 2013 Wrangler Sport 2 door, black or billet, 6 speed, ac, steel wheels, hard top alone, no soft top. 21k before all the fees, 25 k out the dealers door before financing. Opinions ??? Is it a killer price or should I wait for 2014, get a better color and hope to get the same price or at least real close ? This is killing me !

If your credit is good have them run some numbers. Its up to you in the end. Billet is a damn sexy color. There was a billet one next to mine on the lot. Only reason I didn't buy it was it didn't have the alpine sound system and white matches my mustang and my wife's escape. You can never go wrong with black either.

4K in fees????? That seems awefully high. What's the sales tax rate where you live? Here, we pay 7% sales tax, $199 doc fee, and $150 registration. 4K in fees sounds crazy.

^your options will be limited to what is left over in the lot but you can usually talk them down. They need to clear out the old stuff to make room for shiny new inventory.

We got a 2011 f-150 when the 2012's came out. Got an XLT with ecoboost and all the fancy ford sync stuff, for the price of a base model 2013. Could have gotten a 5.0 for 2,000 cheaper.

But wranglers don't have an engine choice anymore so that isn't a factor.

Only problem is, if you are dead set on a manual and specific options or colors, you may be out of luck waiting that long. When we were looking at the f-150 i was set on the ecoboost or the 5.0 and there was only 1 of each left on the lot, so no choice in color or package or anything. We ended up with a red one, fortunately it was a decent looking red because I generally do not like that color.

Its serious slim pickins out there for the equipment I want and there are no colors I want, nit sure what to do at this point, it's agonizing

This is what I was told for the price to go from $21899.00 to $24999.00

PA 6% sales tax(plus .17% sales tax), and $150 Max for PA License/Registration; Freight($995), and Processing Fee($499).

$499 PROCESSING FEE ?????

i think thats rather high. here in florida i see dealers selling 2 door wranglers starting at $22K not including TTT. keep shopping man, if you can wait for the 2014s there is supposed to be killer colors coming out.

i'm trying real hard myself to wait for the 2014s to come out the only problem is no one has confirmed as to when they will be released..... good luck in whatever you decide.

Also, check the window sticker. Freight is already part of MSRP, so it sounds like they are trying to give you a low number, then slide it back in.

I'm in a similar dilemma as I debate buying a second Jeep after trading in my car on a JKU. We bought our 2012 JK in late July 12 and while we got a good price it wasn't really much more than the depreciation a 2012 ended up with once the 2013s came out since it technically became a 1 year old vehicle. September isn't that far away and it's not like we don't already have a Jeep to enjoy this summer.

The dealer I'm working with said you can order a 2014 in two weeks and deliveries will be laze August. The decision is killing me. The only thing holding me hack is the billet, black and commando colors they have left. Its a Jeep but its also a Mopar and I want a crazy ass Mopar color ! If I wait I just hope I can get a deal

Buy now. Nothing new coming for 14 except maybe a color, but the current color range is pretty awesome, so I don't see what you'll gain. If the price is right, git-er-done.

I am curious how old you are? Don't let a bunch of bozo's on an internet site make a decision for you. Pull up your big boy pants and go in and buy a jeep.

Yea, I wanted a crush, and my dealer was scared of stocking them. Made them order it for me, price was the same as buying off the lot.

LOL, Ill be 49 on Sunday. I put this out there because this is my first Wrangler and I figure people would know if this equipment at this price was a good deal and to not pass it up or could I probably get a similar deal in a 2014. If they had the color I wanted I wouldn't have said a word and just went ahead and bought it. The color is my biggest obstacle. I could live with a 3rd choice color if I could save a few thousand bucks. If I wait and order a 2014, get the color I want that's great but not if I'm paying a hell of a lot more $$$. A car purchase is a no brainer, I hagle the shit out of those, Wranglers ate a bitch to make a steal of a deal on.

That's 3 years from how or almost 4% of the average life of a person in the US. Why wait? What happens if you die next year?

"Good things come to those who wait. Good things are lost to those who are late"
Most ppl don't know the second part of that quote

I'd buy one now and trade it in on a new 2016. You really won't lose that much money on it

I personally do not think 26K otd is a killer deal for a basic 2dr sport with the hardtop being the only real add on. Billet is a great color. I personally have never let color be a factor unless it is a color I could not stand. I would not get black as it is too hard to keep looking good (looks great when new tho). I have had two new black vehicles and never again especially on a vehicle you are going to take off road.

I kinda agree, its 25 k out the door but I've been looking on line for months and I've never come across a 2 door Sport with ac, 6 speed and a hard top for just under 22k. Ive been pushing to take it down to 21 but they will not budge. I could live with Billet, just wish it was darker. I've had two silver cars already. Ill probably take my chances and wait for a 14. I have till December to buy.

Look at it this way. Sounds like you are happy with one they have. Price isn't horrible so that shouldn't be a factor.

If you want one now and plan to keep it, go for it. If you don't mind waiting for a few months and not sure if you will keep it. Wait for 2014's.

Reason is, current model year will be a year old in terms of value the minute 2014's are on the lot. It won't matter if you just bought it, KBB will price it as if you bought it a year ago with low miles.

I never buy a model year when a new one is coming out just because of a rebate or low price. I like to have the option of trading in a year without getting hosed too bad. If you buy a 2013, you will take a much larger value hit than a 2014. Just think, if you wait for 2014, you can drive it for 10 months longer before you take as big of a hit as you will take on 2013's in two months.

I'm wondering how true that is i might enquire at a few dealers myself. i wasn't looking to order but that might be an idea. see if the dealer your working with can tell you about any colors. so far all the ones around here are just trying giving me their car sales man BS. here's a email pertaining to 10th annversary models as well as 2014 models coming out

Christopher,

I spoke with my manager and these cars are not negotiable because they are a Special Edition 10th Anniversary and they are hard to find, also Wranglers are really tough to negotiate
Because those are special cars that do not have competition and there are no other car brands that compare to that model, they are one of a kind vehicles, Also the 2014 won’t be available until about between August, September, or October, I can keep you updated on the 2014 Jeep Wranglers, if there is anything I can help you with or you have any questions please give me a call

I love it how they say they can't really negotiate.... i find that funny. any vehicle can be negotiated. their just all full of you know what.

Wow, what a bunch of bullsh!t. First of all, treadlightly is an automatic 1% below invoice, so I wouldn't even bother talking to a dealer unless THAT was our STARTING point. Tell him to get bent and go elsewhere.

We could both get a great deal for sure as long as you like billet, black, white or commando. Most colors are pretty much gone from what Im finding, unless your pockets are deeper than mine, I'm just looking for a sport with a hard top. I'm gonna take my chances and wait for the 14's . Good luck !!

That Jeep is selling for < $20k + tax at any dealership in Canada... Not sure what you mean by 'fees'...

They don't have to negotiate... just as you don't have to buy from them. If they are moving JK's without incentives, why would they choose to give them away? The whole USA auto-bailout was precipitated by the idea that selling cars for less than it cost to make them was a winning business plan.
