Kind of a bikini top-type question...

Do they make a small soft top to just go over the driver and passenger when your front 2 panels are off. I'm thinking about driving to work with the front panels off and if I had something like a bikini top I wouldn't have to worry about bird crap or even a small rain shower.

yes the two front panels on the freedom top. Looking for a soft cover when these are off in case of a quick shower. The panels take-up a lot of room if you take them with you.

That's a really confusing question. What is the point of taking the freedom panels off and replacing them with a bikini top?

i think what he is asking about is something so it would snug up to the rest of the hard top and almost act like a trail cover for just that section

I don't see how it would be any easier and it certainly wouldn't offer better protection.

I'm like you Tom...can't see where the two panels take up THAT much room when removed.

My idea is not to drive with the bikini-type top on. But when I drive to work (or other places) in my 2-door I don't want to always take the front 2 panels from the Freedom top. But where I work there are a lot of birds. I'm just not in the mood to come out in the afternoon and have to clean bird sh*t off the seats or do I care to sit it in. Its obvious by several comments there is more than just me that would buy it. And for the others you either haven't faced it or wouldn't buy it so just wondering. Obviously no one that has read this so far that knows of one.

I think it's because it would prove to be more trouble than it's worth. But, you might look into Bestop's soft top liner ( I forget exactly what it's called.) It's made to be left on under a soft top to add a layer of insulation and sound dampening. Or a SpiderWeb sunshade would offer a good amount of protection from bird dookie, tho' not so much for rain. Bot can be used under a hard or soft top, left on or rolled back to the point where your panels end. If you look at these and neither seems like they'd work for you, let me know and I'll see what I can come up with. I love fabricating stuff for my Jeep and fulfilling unmet need/wants

You could just carry a windbreaker or poncho with you.

I'd just throw a small tarp or something up there while you're inside.

Now understand your question a little better. The bikini tops aren't designed to work with the back shell of a hard top on. I think they even need the door surrounds. I do have one idea to protect your seats from birds. Take a look at this: T2G100B - Jeep® Logo Towel 2 Go Seat Cover - Quadratec

Bestop makes two different bikini tops for the JK. One just goes back to the back of the front seats the other goes back the the roll bar.

The first one will do the job for you, if you can get it attached around and under the hard top, remember you will need to purchase the front bracket for the windshield also.

That way when you take the all the top off you can run with the little bikini, I have the longer one to cover the back set for mine.
