KM2 285/75R17 vs. 285/70R17

been running goodrich mud terrain KM2s in the 285/70R17 for about 48K miles and getting ready to replace. been happy with them. thinking of going to the 75 version of the same tire to get a little extra size. not looking for 35's so this seems like a good "34." anyway, curious if others have experience with them.

I have them in 305/70/17. The only difference is width. The 305s are 12" wide and the 285/75s are 11.2" wide. Under vehicle load both 305&285/75s measure just over 33" at 30 psi.

Both are load range E and I find the ride no different than the 285/70/17s D load range tires I started out with.

I like the E load range they seem much tougher than the D range KM2s even though both are 3ply. This based on personal observations of trail damage to KM2s in D load range.

As far as looks go, IMP the 305&285/75s do look much better on the vehicle than 285/70s.

You will find your speedometer off by ~3mph from your current 285/70s.

If you want to see the size on a veh. look at my images. The Moab and Gold Mountain are KM2s in "34".

Hope this helps out.

I went with the 305/70r17 KM2. 33.9 tall 12.0 wide. Started to get the 285/75 but thought they might look a tad on the narrow side.
