KM2s ideal PSI for on-road driving

My KM2s are currently inflated to 32 PSI (their maximum is rated at 65 psi). Now since I'm considering using them this winter mostly on road and that I would like to limit their impact on MPG, can I / should I inflate them to a higher PSI and if so, to how much? My vehicle is a Wrangler Sahara Unlimited Article Edition (OEM recommendation is 37 PSI with the original KMs).

Thanks for any info you can provide

Tony.

That is one of the most confusing posts I have ever read. A Sahara Artic Edition? It's a Sahara or it's an Artic. Which is it? Are you asking about the original KM's or aftermarket KM2's? If KM2's, what size?

If you want good answers, you need clear questions.

Over inflating your tires might give you slightly better MPG but the cost savings will be offset by needing to replace your tires sooner when they wear out unevenly.

His question cannot be answered properly without knowing the size of the tires. I would say that yours are underinflated and you will have wear issues. You can use the chalk test to be sure.

Last night I inflated the KM2s to 38PSI. Much smoother ride on pavement. The sticker in door says 37 psi (for the original KMs - MY Jeep is an Artic Edtion). You think I could go to 40? Obviously, I shall do a chalk test but their rated max PSI is 65. What do you think?

If the KM2's are the same size as the oem KM's you replaced, you should inflate to the oem placard recommended 37 PSI cold.

40 might be too much. They are not much different in size than your originals, a little wider and less than an inch taller. You'll probably find 37 to be best.
