knee bumping out of drive

Does anyone else (any tall people) have the issue of your knee bumping the auto transmission out of "drive" and into the manually selectable gears?

Ah I have done it a few times but it is usually the dogs who insist they know how to drive that do it more.

Wife is a good one my fiancée has no regard or understanding if what the manual control is so she throws her purse or bumps it and has no idea or care what she may do so wife/lady friends are another offender
