Hey folks,

I'm in the market for a 2016 or 2017 JK. I live in Tampa Bay, FL. I keep hearing about the tremendous deals that Koons makes.

Are they so good that it would be worth it for my wife and me to fly there and get our Wrangler, considering airfare, lodging for a day and gas to drive home?

Thanks!

Koons is a good place to buy, but the "wow" price is sometimes a hiccup. I went looking for another vehicle from them and they had incentives the president wasn't qualified for. As for jeeps being that they have no rebates other than 500 military so you should be good. They sometimes deduct freight off those prices also, but those two things are about it IF you see a price too unbelievable. Give them a call and ask, if they say something otherwise try to contact the guy working on the orders and just get a custom one, should cost the same or less since they are dealing in high volume sales.

They are good to go. I had nothing but problems trying to find a JKUR locally after going through 4 other dealers locally. i got quotes from each one and all of them ended up being bait and switch and dealers wanting to play the back and forth game.

Koons kept their word and got us squared away at the price we agreed to and there was no BS or games to deal with.

The gentleman who helped us, Jason G., was incredibly helpful and great to work with. Really good people there in the sales department.

Florida is tough to get a deal because Jeeps are just so popular down here. I sought out several out of state jeeps. I finally settled on one at Dothan Al. Jeep that was inbound. I felt like I got a great deal and negotiated 10.25% off MSRP with the Internet Sales Mgr. I picked up my new Hard Rock last Saturday. It was well worth the 4 hour round trip drive for me. Some of these out of the way dealers will work a deal.

Tag. I can't believe those prices.

I bought my '14 from Fields CJD in Sanford. Fields had a partnership with this forum for 2% under invoice, no haggle. I'm going to start there if I am buying a new JK, and see how it goes. My Salesman was Steve Smith, and he's still there I talked to him the other day.

Another vote for Steve Smith at Fields CJD. By far the most pleasant buying experience I e ever had. They went $1k below invoice on my order and offered military and I think a tread lightly discount on top of it. For me it was well worth the drive from Jax, plus saved me from taking time off work. It's at least worth a phone call to them.

They're legit. Tell them you want the 7% below invoice (5% now on Hard Rocks and maybe Rubicons) that you saw on Wranglerforum. Done.

I drove nine hours round trip to pick up my new Jeep, and I'd do it again. It was that easy.

Any idea if they have similar discount for Renegades? I am asking for a friend...(no...really!).

If you're considering a Mopar Max lifetime warranty, get it at Koon's or from a WF vendor ($2430). I just purchased mine from Tom Winks, off this site, cheaper than anywhere I could find. He's professional, I purchased via emails without issue. I live in Florida, and Florida law requires all Lifetime (key word lifetime) warranties purchased from a dealer in Florida be transferrable. The price is fixed for all dealers ($3700+). You can purchase from any Mopar dealer outside the state, get the same Lifetime MAX Warranty, non-transferrable version (but prorated refundable if you sell) for more than a $1300 savings.

You will see Florida dealers push a 3rd party warranty for the same price as the Mopar Max non-transferable price ($1800-2200) in order to offer a competitive price since they are handcuffed by the state law. I prefer the Mopar warranty backed by FCA.

I just purchased my JKUS last month. I was considering Airport Jeep in Orlando and a "No Haggle " Jeep dealership in Lebanon, TN (Rocky Williams).

Ultimately, bad weather delayed my travel and I stopped by the local dealer, showed them packages of Jeeps on my short list. They had one on the lot that met my criteria. I told them to come within $500 to earn my business, and they did. So, no travel cost, plus its where I will be getting it serviced.

I purchased the Mopar Max Care Lifetime Warranty ($100 deductible) from:

The "Wow" price typically includes the military rebate ($500) (as someone who just bought from Koons).

If you're not a rush, you can probably get 9-10% below invoice if you're patient and wait for a month where they need sales...if not, yeah, ask for Erica and ask for 7% below invoice (regular) or 5% (HR).

OK, thanks guys! I did receive an e-mail response from a Koons rep and they also say that their listed price is prior to any additional discounts. I had a major brain fart, though: My wife and I would have to drive to Koons in our trade-in vehicle, not fly! I wonder, how would they be able to give me a trade-in value prior to ever having seen the vehicle? I don't want to drive to VA and find out that they're offering me $5K less on our trade than it's worth.

See if you can email them some pictures of your trade-in and describe its condition as accurately as possible. They should give you an amount based on the photos and what you tell them. I did that with Fields when I did my deal, and they were right on the money.

Dude i highly recommend Koons. I bought a Hard Rock Rubicon in March and you cant beat their deals. Forget the Wow price or the $400 for flights. This is a group buy so you will get 7% under invoice for all normal models (sports, Sahara, Rubicon etc) you will get 5% under invoice willy and Hard Rock
Rubicon you can get a trade in by sending them pictures. It's totally worth Contacting

Jeep Garage is another forum.. I'm not a member there (just looked it up. Jeep Garage - Jeep Forum ). That said, I was up a Koons last week and picked up a new vehicle for my wife (non Jeep) and was told by my sales guy that he will be picking up Wrangler Forum also for the deals. How soon this goes in effect.... not sure. But We did get a way better deal on her ride than Sanford would even offer us.

Have you tried Lakeland CJD? You wouldn't have to worry about your trade in value after the long drive. They offer good deals and generally have a good selection between them and the sister store in Orlando. Plus you wouldn't have to pay taxes on the new vehicle up to your trade in amount.

I am wondering why you have to fly to a dealership to get your car when the destination charge is the $995 and is part of every deal? I ordered a 2016 JKUR HR from an Arizona dealer and they had it shipped to an Ohio dealer 10 miles from my home where I picked it up. I understand that this is not possible if the car is sitting on the dealer's lot, but if it is ordered and has to be built, it can delivered to any dealer no matter who the selling dealer is.

Very true. And the dealer you have it shipped to is free to charge any fee he/she wants to for prep and delivery.

Am I missing something? My local dealer gave me >5% off without me fighting for it at all. And no destination fee. Have you tried calling a few of your local dealers and asking them to match the offer?

Or are these recent Koons threads some sort of guerilla marketing campaign?

You don't need to be a member of Jeep Garage to get the GP deal. I didn't last month.

No guerrilla tactic here. Just a happy customer.
