leaking water from a door is normal?

Hello JeeperS,
I'm a new jeeper.
I just got my JK unlimited 3 pieces hard tops few weeks ago. I washed my car & water was dripping/leaking to arm rest by the window in passenger side from back side top of door. I can still wipe out , but I'm just curious this is normal for most hard top JKU.
If not, what Is your recommendation?

Hell no its not normal. Whoever says it is needs their brain examined! Make sure you top is on right and all your latches are tight. The only time water will come in is when you open your door and it drips down from the top. Hope it all works out.

Mine did that one time when I first bought it a few weeks ago. One thing I was told is when you put the freedom panels back on, to make sure they are flat when latch them down. And don't over tighten the 2 bolts in the ceiling. I have not had a problem since. Good luck!

Unfortunately, this leak is somewhat normal. Should it be normal on a $30k+ vehicle? Absolutely not. As the others have stated, make sure your top is on correctly first. Take the panels off and clean the seals on the hard top and freedom panels. Then sit the passenger side panel STRAIT DOWN onto the windshield and hard top. Don't move it around. Do the same for the driver side. Then latch all the interior latches, and then the screws. As soon as you feel any resistance on the screws, stop. If it continues to leak, take it to the dealer (mixed feeling on this; they have helped some leaks, but have also made some worse) if you're still under warranty, or apply something like Honda Shin-etsu grease (what I have done) to the seals all around the hard top.

Unfortunately, it's the "new normal". When buttoned up it shouldn't leak. If you're under warranty take it in if you think you tried everything and the top is secured properly. When you open the doors water will run into the cabin. That's normal.

EXACTLY what I was thinking when I saw the word normal being used.

Doesn't matter what you call it. It shouldn't happen, but it happens a lot.

That IS normal, and the guy who designed it should feel terrible.

Hemorrhoids are 'common' but not 'normal'.

just had something similar happen to me about a week or so ago.... put the hard top back on after being off for about 4 months, next thing you know it the driver side freedom panel has started letting in small droplets of water near the armrest of the driverside door....

I feel this is a user error, just reinstall the panels and mess with it. it might end up just being that. if not then i would recommend taking it to a stealership.
