After several phone calls with their Sales Manager (recently I found out he was let go) and several e-mails later.. I got nowhere with Pilot Automotive. This company is "deaf" towards my complaints etc..They are on my "%^&&$" list and stay away from LED taillights.. I don't believe they will resolve this fast flashing issue.. Silence from their side will bring them nowhere.. Customers will keep on returning their stuff..
The store I bought the tail lights from is very cooperative and will give me a full refund,.. I feel sorry for these outlets as they cannot do a thing without help from the OEM.. (Pilot Automotive)

End of rant ..and indeed a good lesson learned..(you are never too old for that...)

Why LEDs? Whats wrong with the $1.50 bulb? Why pay $200+ for an LED assembly, that in some cases still usesa buld for reverse indication?

These aren't lite assemblies just led replacement bulbs.
Super Bright LEDs - Brake Light, Turn Light and Tail Light Bulbs
I just spoke to the Bill at Superbrightleds.com and he suggested I use an LED Flasher module if possible. Does anyone know if the 2010 JK's have this? If so, what is the pin pattern?

Bill at Superbrightleds.com doesn't know enough about the JK...

Yeah that's what I gathered. Can I just leave it the way it is and have the turn signals blink fast? It doesn't bother me?

It's not illegal to blink fast if that's what you're asking.
Just looks doofy.

edit ---- and it's rendering the safety aspect of the fast-blink inoperative. Something to think about.

Should I get the 50 watt resistor or the 25 watt resistor? It's for my front marker lights.

Resistors are measured in ohms...

I still think a capacitor would be safer. Don't ask me which one; it's been 20 years since I had a bench set up to do this crap. And the company that I work with sold it's semiconductor side 10 years ago so I don't have any engineers to pester for help.

I think you'd have better luck joining Candlepowerforums.com and asking/researching in the LED area of the forum, even in the automotive section.
I doubt that Recon has any true semiconductor engineers about the place.

i've been looking into these, as i'm tired of the near misses everyday on the freeway. my commute in the morning is in the dark. figured my 1990 lights were just out of date for todays world, and i was driving around invisible to average drivers on the road. bought the street glow replacement bulbs for my factory housings. the tail light setting is only slightly brighter than the stock one, and the brake setting is actually slightly dimmer. at 30 bucks for 2 bulbs, they are going back to napa.

I'd stick with what you have. My 89 YJ didn't even come with a third brake light. After 22yrs. I haven't been a$$ ended yet. If they're going to hit you, having runway lights back there won't help. Upgrading your headlamps will better help you out there.

If you're going to do LED tail lights, you might as well put Lambo doors on it too.

Here's a normal bulb that will work in your blinkers and wake up the narcoleptic Cadillac pilots that are closing on your six.

Check out either Grote or Trucklite, they make some of the best LED's.

i just went back to the store, traded them for 2 new bulbs (OEM) and said to hell with it. after reading around the forums with the issues people are having, decided I don't need any more things to fix or keep up with. and hell no to lambo doors, lol. although, i do need to replace me keyhole on the door. it's super hard to turn, especially when it's cold out.

Powdered graphite or WD40 first.

Nice LEDs from Truck-Lite but terrible performance in their automotive products.

The cue if LED lights have a chance to work is if the maker includes a replacement electronic blink relay. Normal relay uses heating of a bimetalic strip to create the blink, and thus it's sensitive to the load. No relay included, no deal.

I've had the Pilot LED Taillights since early last year, with no problems. I love them. The only thing I noticed is that when I remote start the Jeep the passenger side flickers before the lights actually blink and on occasion the (same) passenger side light will flicker when the tailgate is slammed. I think they look OEM but so much more modern and upscale. I wouln't trade them in for anything, unless they made them tinted. I know I can use Night Shades (or similar) but not interested in that. I wish Pilot also made LED turn signal and side markers in Amber color.

Can we start a Lamborghini door thread? How would you that work? It would probably work as good as the LEDs seem to work

Hey guys, Sorry to bring up the past but allow me to throw this idea out to yall old timers. What if... you wired your LED's in to your stock light housing and left the factory bulb in the housing as well?
Could it not allow one to have the "bright pretty look" of LED's yet not have to worry about the quick flashing, resistors and legality?
Just an idea and I appreciate the feedback

Bought the 3157 LED Bulbs. Fit great but make turn signals hyper flash. Remedy would be to change turn signal relay. No part available. It seem 2011 - 2012 JK have a combined turn signal switch and relay assembly not upgradeable to LED. Can anyone confirm that this is true about combined switch.

Cut Splice -

Cut, splice (BS) - for the prices they command $$$, at a minimun they should be plug-n-play. There must be a reason they want the owner to do the modification/addition rather selling a complete ready-to-use tail light.

I've got LED tail lights on my YJ. Love them. So much brighter than stock.
