What did you use to paint these? Rattle can? How did you seal it? I bought one that has been powder coated and really don't want to pay to have it powder coated again when I know I'll be wheeling.
I got the Rough country diff skids on mine (great deal thru sponsor Rockridge 4wd) which is more function than fashion. I like the way lots of these covers are painted but here in Wisconsin all that nice work would be eaten alive by the brine and road salt I deal with.
The skids are solid and I keep my stock cover from peeling like an orange.
Captain. In in the same boat. Hahaha see what I did there. Any ways a good coat of clear and it's fine. I ran my them all winter and still look brand new. Btw. Where is WI are you. I'm in the Milwaukee area.
That's all pretty....but no one has mentioned that ARBs covers have a dipstick at the top. With a magnet at the end. You can check fluid easily; plus drain hole at bottom.
After my locker blew up- I'll never go without the magnet on the end. Kept chunkies from my gears.
Teraflex also has two ports for fluid levels and magnetic catch. However the TF diff cover doesn't fit like the OEM. It is made to fit their axle, and on the OEM axle their diff cover sits slightly lower making for a situation for the cover to be snagged.
The AEV also has two ports for fluid levels and magnetic catch. They also include a top filling port made for ease.
Seems all of these covers are particular some fit front rear with stock Track Bar some dont.. Which can fit front Stock track bar
