Why not? I see quite a few painting their grill with that stuff. Probably good rust prevention too. My opinion doesn't matter and I am fresh out of sarcastic remarks at this time.

Makes sense for what you are dealing with.

I'd definitely go for it. A buddy of mine had an 80s Chevy truck that had the bottom section of the two tone paint job done with bedliner. It looked awesome and was pretty functional. He ran through a lot of brush and it was never any worse for the wear. They're kinda a pain to get the dirt and grime out of though. But you just need a nice bristle brush.

I'd do the lower portion of the body, but also do the whole doors. Aside from being functional, it'd look sort of like this, which I think is pretty damn cool.

I've seen it done on trucks before and say go for it. It looks good when done right. On the other hand my neighbor did his whole Durango half-assed and never washes it so its still got salt from 2 winters ago all over and looks terrible.

Why not? The 2-tone might look pretty cool.

$79 for the bedliner kit at Autozone (not a brand name, more generic but $30 cheaper) and you just want to get some wide paint tape to make a smooth edge for it.
Prep the surface and get the brush or roller and go to town!
I've seen it on a lot of rigs up here in NH and thinking of doing my own rubicon including the slide rails. Time to get some rust on the bumpers taken care of.

or get the tub off, hang it up and line-X the whole thing! that would be a decent exterior for a Jeep...
