Bilstiens 5100's are known to be a bit rougher on road. Similar to a fox racing shock. Ome or teraflex 9550's are smooth in comparison. Think of it in terms of responsiveness. Bilstien and fox, very responsive, smooth out at higher speeds, like a spring mattress with a nice memory foam topper, a tera or ome is all memory foam and a cheaper twin tube or other is a spring matress.

2013 JK 4Dr Rubi .... 8 months old and 9000 miles and its all rusted out like the OP's maybe worse. Will post pics tmrw.

The POR15.... Which one exactly did you use to "wipe" off the rust? I'm seeing POR15 paint and other stuff but want to be certain.

Naval jelly works but takes time, rustoleum black rust converter is good and easy plus it matches the frame paint code, wire wheel on an angle grinder is the fastest and works well in conjunction with the rust converter rustoleum, por 15 is great but its not as easy to work with.
Caution on the wire wheel though, long sleeves, safety glasses, closed toe shoes (not flip flops) and jeans are a must Learn from my mistakes.

I do have aftermarket front bumper and warn zeon 10 winch (about 150#over stock) and rear bumper/tire carrier ( 160#over stock) set up helping out the ride. I run the tires at 28 psi and it feels about right. Can't tell about the wear yet though.
Thanks ! Do you have any pics that you can post?
