Ordered a Rubicon hard rock. Going with 37" toyo open county mt with 18" wheels. I don't want different flares so I'm going with a 4" lift and 3/4" spacers. This will be my daily driver so I want it to ride pretty good. What brand lift and shocks would you go with?

the 37's with a 4" lift looks great. My daily commute to work is 4.5 miles. If I were going with 35s I wouldn't have to ask all these questions as he does about two a week. I think 35s on a 2-door with 17" wheels looks fantastic but the 4-door just doesn't carry the same look with that setup.

It can be expensive to get the set up right, but if it is done right it can drive just fine (for a Jeep, it still wont drive like a car). You'll get about 12 to 14 mpg with those tires. Just be sure that is what you want for a daily driver.

Yeah you may want to just go with 35's VS 37's. I own a 2015 Willys and have 3.73's which may need swapped to 4.12 or 4.88's (once I go to my 35's) so you may have to look into that especially if going to 37" tires. If Im not mistaken the rubicon has a better gear ratio than the willys though. If this is a daily driver and NOT doing heavy duty 4 wheeling, I would do a 3 or 3.5" kit. I went with a skyjacker budget kit. some say thats not the best and it is clearly a budget kit. you can get a lift that is $2000 bucks but I went with the $500 kit and it is awesome. works for me on the trail as well as in the city commute to work. but hey you went hardcore with the rubicon why stop now :D!

since I'm keeping the original flares, I've been told (by someone who does numerous lifts for dealers) that I'll need the 4" lift to prevent scrubbing in a mild to moderate off-road setting. This rubicon will have a 4:10 ratio (may have to re-gear later on depending on how it drives)

Thanks for all the input. Keep it coming. This forum is invaluable. Just looking for advice from experienced owners to insure I get it right the first time. After discussing lift options with the guy at the shop, he states it's important to maintain/keep correct suspension geometry in order for it to drive correctly.

Probably a Synergy with Fox shocks... But you still have a lot to consider. 37's are going to wear out your ball joints very quickly and you should consider gussets for your C's amongst other things. Just know that you can't put "cheap" and "done right" in the same sentence.

SYNERGY MANUFACTURINGÂ*::Â*Jeep JKÂ*::Â*Synergy Jeep JK Stage 3 Suspension System, 4/4.5" Lift

I would have to consider a Rock Krawler 5.5 long arm. That's good for 37's and stock fenders.

JKU 5.5 X Factor Long Arm - Stage 1

thanks for the info and not trying to talk me out of 37s. We know up front it's gonna cost but that's why we work ; ). We just want to do it right once it gets here. The wait is killing me!

If you can wait a few weeks Mopar is releasing a new 4 inch kit that looks great and super complete. The kit is made by teraflex and comes with a new driveshaft, high steer, fox steering stabilizer, and fox reservoir shocks for $2250. Can't beat that price. Normally those shocks, high steer, and a driveshaft would cost that alone.

Everything I have heard about the recent kits has been good. The newer 2 inch kit with fox shocks has been out over a year and gets praise. People also love the three inch kit. Maybe their older kits were good but the newer ones where they are teaming with Teraflex and Fox are getting stellar reviews.

If I didn't just put on the RK 3.5 Flex System (which netted over 4.5 inches of lift) I would go with this kit.

Ah. Since I won't have a warranty on mine when I get it, would I be better off going with a Rock Krawler X-Factor lift or a Metalcloak GameChanger ARB 6PAK lift for that price?

ok yes 4" seems about right if your keeping the OEM flares. you can see my pic of my jeep just after a 3.5" with the OEM flares however I have 32" tires on. As far as what the rest of the participants are telling you regarding the various lifts such as MOPAR thats awesome. But I just can't sling that kind of dough on a lift right now. I went with a $500 budget kit that seems fine for what I do. Its a little stiff lol! but it looks cool and it will allow my 35's. If you can swing it I would get a nicer lift then. But in my case I'm not going rock crawling or anything crazy. I go trailing here and there or mudding. your OEM gears might be ok with the 4.10's see how it feels after you install the tires.

Want good road manners and the ability to hit the trail? Promotions But I am bias. The JK is on our 3" progressive springs, and 37's. :)
I just put a 4 inch sport rancho lift on mine and I love it. My gripe is the rebate so far, my presubmission status is still pending and I have recieved confirmed receipt over 2 weeks ago from rancho. I sure hope I don't lose this rebate and get the run around. I will report back if I do.

I'm still very happy with the lift quality and the 9000xl shocks, it drives smooth and no problems after 1200 miles.

Update on Rancho rebate. I just got my confirmation that it has gone through processing. Now what can I use my $406 on.
