Nahh they get a bad rep from guys that work on jeeps and have to take them off or add parts from other lifts 2 or 3 years down the road because all the joints are shot in the frontend. But what do I know......

Just the unimportant ones like the stuff on track bar and stearing ends. And of course the ball joints but that is a given with any JK running lare tires over time.
I have seen and helped several RC lifts pulled and replaced with something else but never the orher way around.

Keep in mind I am talking about lifts biger then a lvl kit.

Love the pairing.

May just have to give it a try

Just heard from a few jeepers to go with jeep only focused lifts. Tera, Rk, etc
But they are double if not triple RC's price

A lot of people will only run the more expensive kits like Rock Krawler and Teraflex and there's nothing wrong with that. Rock Krawler is made 100% in the USA and that means a a lot to some people.

Even if you get the Rough Country Lift Kit and aren't happy with it, you can always slowly upgrade to a better kit. Teraflex and Rock Krawler sell all their kits as Builders Parts. So that way you can get coils, control arms and track bars all separately.

Better now because as u lift it shortens the wheel base and when u install the long arm u can stretch it back out

the good thing about rough country is you can upgrade at anytime. they sale a long arm upgrade kit.

The bad part is you will eventually "upgrade" every part of a rough country kit. Not saying this to be rude. I have heard a lot of people on the forum praise and hate on rc stuff. I have met many ppl in person with rc stuff, they all hated it and planned on upgrading. Bad ride, weak components, etc. They have a great price but you can probably find something much better within your budget that you will only have to do once.

There's a reason people are always "upgrading" these lifts. And it's not cause they just want to, they have too. Do it right once and forget it

Teraflex 2.5, rubicon express isn't terrible, aev, metalcloak, there are very many use quadratecs lift advisor it's a great tool

Spacers are fine for a little more clearance for bigger tires. Another pro is you will get 2.5" of lift.
Running coils with a light rig will get you 1" or even more. Not good for steering/driveshafts.

You want a complete kit for the height. a 4" w/ only coils and shocks is cheap but missing components to make it work right.

I'm going with the AEV 2.5 Dual sport with the steering correcting brackets, installing today. The lift has excellent reviews, many saying it handles on road better than stock.
I have to drive it daily so having the capability of excellent on and off road handling matters to me. Get it right the first time, you won't be constantly upgrading.

FastnUgly,

Spacer Lift Kits will give you the clearance to run a larger tire and not much else. The Jeep will ride close to stock and you won't get any performance gains out of this type of lift.

Coil Spring Lifts will give you clearance to run a larger tire along with a better ride. You will also notice more performance on and off road with this type of kit. A coil spring kit is usually a bit more inclusive of a kit and will come with more parts to set up the suspension correctly.

Both of the kits I linked to are great kits and you won't be disappointed with either one. It all will come down to how much you want to spend and what you're looking to get out of a lift kit.

i have the rc series 2 3.5" lift and it has been great so far. i really cant see what i will have to change if i upgrade to a long arm kit that i wouldnt have to change with any other kit.

FastnUgly,

We do carry that kit minus the shocks. The Teraflex 2.5" Lift Kit will come with shock extension brackets, but since you'll be getting new shocks, you can just set those aside.

We also carry a wide range of great Shocks choices from Rancho to Fox. I would recommend either the Fox 2.0 Smooth Body Shocks or Rancho RS9000's. Both will give you a great ride and you won't be disappointed with either one.
