Lift kit help!!!!!!!!!!

okay guys ive had my 08 wrangler unlimited (4dr) for just over a year now an i JUST took it off road yesterday and i was with a few very experienced people my only mods are my tires pro comp AT 33's any way long story short i got stuck got and eventually winched out but aside from that it preformed very well much better than i expected any way... we went pretty deep on the trails till i got stuck yet again and we deciced to turn back as the difficulty increased... i want to lift badly now because ground clearance with the snow was the major issue i don't want to go crazy i was thinking a 2.5-3.5 lift with springs and shocks....my problem is there are so many out there to choose from i need input i narrowed it Down to a few brands and packages as follows (excuse lack of punctuation grammar and spell check its 530 am and i am at work going on 16 hours)

Black diamond 3in lift with shocks for 769.99

Pro comp 2.5 in lift with MX6 shocks 770.99

AEV dual sport XT With shocks 959.99 (my friend highly recommends this one)

Sky jacker 2.5 lift with nitro shocks and lower control arms for 946.99

Teraflex 2.5 lift with shocks 730.99

now rough country has a 3.5 lift for 499.99 and it comes with:

FRONT
Lifted coil springs
Fixed lower control arms
Track bar drop bracket
Pitman arm
Brake line relocation brackets
Hardware

REAR
Lifted coil springs
Coil correction plates
Track bar drop bracket
Extended sway-bar links
Brake line relocation brackets
Hardware

SHOCKS
(4) Premium N2.0 Series

QEUSTIONS
at what point do i have to swap drive shafts and how much does that cost?

is AEV worth all that coin?

whats the catch with the rough country why so cheap?

what is the most durable complete package?

what additional mods do i need to buy to go with these lift kits to make em work?

please help i want to pull the trigger on this already i want to get back out there and be able to keep up and not have to be dragged through the snow lo

If it was me I would go with the AEV or the Teraflex. Don't use the Teraflex shocks, buy the kit without the shocks..Amazon has it for $394 and get Rancho 9000 shocks, they have a $100 rebate on a set of four right now so you can get them from 4wd.com for $227 after the rebate.

I am personally going with the Teraflex lift and adding a monster adjustable Trackbar to the kit, again on amazon for $194.

Something to think about.....

Lift gains you articulation and taller tires. A lift will not keep you from getting stuck. A locker on the other hand, will do you a lot more good. You didn't say if you had one, so I will assume not. Just saying... I've seen stock height vehicles with decent tires and a locker, do more than a vehicle with tires and a lift.

Again, something else to think about.

Welcome to the Fourm!

Another vote for AEV followed by TF. Skip the RC and SJ. The RC is an economy lift. You get what you pay for. Just consider the suspension is the foundation of your Jeep.

Most of us don't swap the DS until they wear out due to the lift. The bigger the lift the faster they wear out. Go with one of the 2.5" lifts. $600-800 for a pair of quality DS.
