Lift Kit Questions / Where to Buy

Well, I got permission to buy a lift kit for my new jeep. I've got a 2012 JKU Sahara with the 3.21 gears. I drive 35 miles one way to work, all high way. Haven't done any off roading yet as I only have 900 miles on my jeep and my previous 3 vehicles were all import tuners. I do want to get into off roading but nothing to crazy. I will be staying with my stock rims and tires for about a year and would like to get 33's later. I think I've decided on the 2.5" Tera Flex kit with the Bilstein 5100 shocks. I also looked at the Rock Krawler kit but for what I'm going to be doing I don't know if I need to spend twice the money. Should I spend the extra $150 and get the Tera Flex disco's or wait on those? Also where can I get a good price on this lift kit, I can't find it anywhere with the shocks I want in a kit already, do I need to by the lift minus shocks and then order shocks separately? If there is anything else you can think of I should know please chime in. TThanks for all the help.

Check with one of the vendors on this forum. I'm sure they'll give you a good deal.

Northridge 4x4 sells the TF 2.5" lift kit with Bilstein 5100's for $775. It's not listed on their website, though. You'll have to call and order it.

Here's a link to their site: Northridge4x4 Jeep Parts Online Store

I wouldn't be in a rush to get the quick discos. If you're new to wheeling, I'd get to know your Jeep off road first. It'll handle quite a bit without your needing to disconnect the sway bar links.

Enjoy it!

If you are not going to get the 33 inch tires for another year, then I wouldn't recommend doing any lift until then. The 3.21 gears suck stock and if you lift it you will just create more drag for your 35 mile drive which results in lower gas mileage. If you want a lift but don't want to break the bank, just do a BB and the TeraFlex leveling kit is perfect for what I think you will need. You will be able to fit 33" tires and not have to change any shocks, coils or anything. I just took off the TF Levelin kit only because I wanted bigger tires. It is a great cheap kit that you can install in your garage in about three hours. Just my 2 cents.

Or Jason at Krawl Offroad, he can piece the TF kit you want. He is a supporting vendor here. As for the disconnects, I say get them, the Jeep performs so much better off road when the sway bar is disconnected. You can still disconnect without the quick disco’s but you need hand tools and it isn’t quick…Just don’t forget to reconnect
